I like Blazer, looks cool, but no other details on him.

Like, I think they'd be fine if you weren't a lazy ass/completely unaware owner.  They are smart and listen well and aim to please.  Think of them like border collies (Lassie) but more blue collar looking.

If I didn't have sporting breeds but just wanted a dog this is what I would get, even with a young family.
Sorry border collies are not (Lassie)  That is a regular collie.

I would look at corgi mixes or even schnauzers for what you are looking for.

I'd go with Oliver.  Just look at that face.  Also a great name.

Also same human as Dina and not recommended.

No.  After I applied for Dora and then got into the email exchange w/her breaking down my setup, she made the recommendations from her roster.

Maybe Blazer's been riding the pine behind folks like Carson Parlme Matt Leinart.  He's still pretty good, but not always top of mind?  Could be a SLTH.

Alright, I'll send an app to the place that has Copper and a couple others that are younger than I had in mind but are described as already having their crap together.

Maizie and Ellie are going to be your best bets out of these three.  Copper is going be a crackhead.

How do I identify crackheads just from the descriptions?

Ellie's already been living that condo #life, so that could be good.

I think identifying crackheads is a lot like filtering out the crazy women in online dating.  Just look for subtle stuff.

He has the look of a dog that would be in high gear for 90% of the day which is fine if you have a big yard/house.  The other two just have to look of being laid back cuddle monsters.  Also, heelers are notoriously high strung (at least all I have been around).

if you're looking at at cattle dogs now, you may as well just get a border collie (the king of dogs) and be done with it.

Really?  My experience has been opposite.  Schnauzers seems high strung to me tho.  And cocker spaniels.  eff both of those.

be careful though with the rescue borders.  from what i can see, a lot of rescue places just look at every dog that's black and white and go, welp prolly half border and they aren't really bcs at all.

Ellie looks good.

Why don't they put a ruler in the picture for scale?

A 4 to 6 months old puppy is the way to go.  They will become very attached and do whatever they can to please you.  This is their childhood learning stage, so they will be ready to learn and willing to do.  Also, outgoing dogs are much more fun than inverted ones.
