T's asava   .  I'm with KCFD.. it scares Mrs Dub and I with a giant breed about she possibly getting into objects like that, or a smaller bone from our small dog.

Hate to bring this thread down again. Haven't really wanted to talk about it, but my rhodesian died suddenly a couple weeks ago. Ended up swallowing a portion of a corn cob whole. We didn't have any idea he had done it. Nothing happened for 2 or so weeks, then when it started to move downstream, it perforated the lining of his stomach and intestines. Wasn't really anything we could do at that point. I miss him a lot, guys.

Yeah, definitely a part of the reason I posted about how it happened was for awareness on these sorts of things. He was notorious for eating pretty much anything he could get a hold of. Indiscriminate eaters can be super tough to control and monitor. Hope your pooches never have anything like that happen.

Thanks for all the T's and P's.

I am dog-sitting. He is a fun dog. We played chase in the yard for a little bit not that long ago.

Had the annual check up of the hounds on Wednesday.  The vet told me that hunting the dog that had the recent issues would be at an increased risk of another episode, and effectively advised that he be retired.  Which is fine, it's sad, but it's fine.  He is getting old anyway.  I just hope he doesn't get all damn depressed when we go hunting and leave him at home.

I don't think I've ever followed this thread.

I think I might want a dog.  Seems like everyone in my building has one, and they're everywhere I run and walk around.  Looks fun.  But I'd only want a pretty chill dog.

How do I do this?  Googling makes me think I should be adopting an adult dog that's already somewhat trained.

This place has a manageable amount of dogs.  Finch looks good.

Other sites I'm finding seem overwhelming with the amount of dogs.

This little dude seems good too.  http://www.adoptapet.com/pet/16461028-seattle-washington-miniature-pinscher-mix

Advise me on what I should be getting and help find it, or tell me what I need to answer to help narrow down the options.

Low to medium.  Think of the parameters for getting the polka-dot'd mini-vacuum.

Finch looks cool but be aware that there's a good chance he'll have health problems, which can get pricey

Any Corgi owners here?  Interested in this being my next and possibly last dog anybody with pros or cons?

Like generally because of age and being shelter'd or because his knees already ertz?
