How tall are you? How well does the bike fit you?

5'11" and the bike fits me very well. It's a size large, but has a really short stem on it so it feels more maneuverable.

I'll give you upwards of $13 dollars, Canadian.

sticking with the 29er. (although this years frame is 27.5+ compatible with fork change)

coming from a 12 year old hardtail, demoing bikes was a blast, shouldn't have waited so long.

I have been looking at a specialized hard Rock. But that is it. Bikes like that preferably, also I need a large frame.

You might stop by Clint's store (Brew Bros Hops and Sprockets) and see if he knows of anyone selling a used bike. Trek has some spring sales right now if you want to go new.  I think Pathfinder has mostly switched to Trek.  They occasionally have used and last season's bikes down stairs.  A decent hardtaill will do fine on the river trails.  You could probably do the trails at Fancy Creek depending on how aggressively you ride.

Used bike sites like Craig's list or Pink bike aren't real great in the area until you get to KC area.  Jerry's in Topeka is okay, doesn't have a great selection, but they work to help you out.  Capps is the worst of roadie culture.  Judging by the people who go there, they pretty much suck.  Been there and handful of times and found it unremarkable.

I went to pathfinder and they said the could hook me up with a hard rock for $425 I'm going to be working this summer and this will probably be my only purchase. I don't know much about bike friends but guys in the dorm who bike say it's all about the feel I get from the  bike. So they say it's important to try alot of em and go with my gut. Also do any of you have different seats than stock they seem kinda small?

Pathfinder said they would also assemble it for me and would only take about a week to get in.

Nothing wrong with a small saddle. Your sit bones aren't that far apart.
