Well California is pretty mumped up in relation to the rest of the country.

in terms of animal ownership, california is in line with most of the country.  probably slightly more restrictive than average, but well within the range of normal.  most states have become much, much more restrictive over the last 30-40 years (especially so over the last 20 or so).

Well I thought we were talking about hunting and fishing, not raising livestock.

On a related note I made this comment a couple weeks back

Man, I really wish the phone on my camera was working yesterday when I went down to the KS River underneath the 435 bridge. You guys would be amazed at the crazy asians down there.

I counted 8 different people standing in the middle of the river with throw nets catching fish, even a couple standing on top of the weir/waterfall throwing nets belows. The males would net a bunch of fish, bring them over to the shore where the female's/kids would throw them straight on the fire, no cleaning or anything.

Then in about 5 minutes they would pull the whole fish off the flames and eat it with their hands. 

I cruise a couple of fishing boards and, Well lets just say KC Jayhawk 78 IS NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT

channels are biting there, watch out for the throw net mafia keeping all the channels stuck in the holes between the rocks and the weir itself. I think its time to get the game warden down there before they start snagging the blues when they move in.

UPDATE

They are already involved. I know of 2 groups being prosecuted and a few more are in the works. Its a larger issue then what it looks like. The fish being caught are not just being kept for personal use. They are being caught and sold at a couple local fish markets. Same issue that was busted a few years ago just different folks down doing the deed. Please by all means make phone calls if you see it happening the more phone calls the more they might push the issue to get them to stop.

i include hunting, fishing and trapping, because i'm inclusive.  but my main interest is ownership of non-domesticated animals.  i admit i haven't looked at all of the california wildlife regs, but i think they are really just outside of the mainstream on trapping/furbearers.

Did some farm pond fishing today, forgot how fun that can be.

went noodling at Lake Ray Roberts yesterday

lake was about 10' low so most of the normal spots we hit were totally exposed so we just spent most the morning searching for new holes

didn't have much luck as we've had a considerably cool spring and the water temp is still pretty low

we spent the last hour of our trip making and marking some artificial structures (piled cinder block sized rocks with flat rock caps) so we can go back in about a month and wreck havoc

As much as I love fishing I have never once considered going noodling. Blindly stick my hand in an underwater hole and hope a catfish bites me and not a beaver/snake/turtle? No thanks.

Hey goEMAW fishermen....what's your take on buffs?   I personally hate them and think they're unnecessary but everyone is wearing them.  I think they're more for fashion myself.

Don't even know what buffs are. Currently rocking a gE shirt(stoops quotes, 1 champion) and jeans.

If I know I don't have to trek through brush I will wear some old cargo shorts in the summer just for their functionality.

Decided today that I am using steak exclusively as bait for catfish. Sister and I caught seven in one hour today!
