Getting hooks out is really simple after you do it a lot. The key is to think about how the hook entered the jaw and take it out the same way.

i just don't know how to hold the fish. like can you just hold all of them from the bottom lip? what if one of them has teeth and bites me? 

You can hold the jaw with bass/crappie but catfish have little sandpaper teeth that will get you. I usually just leave them on their belly, hold them still with one hand and jerk the hook out with the other. You cant be afraid to use a little force, once you have identified how the hook entered the jaw just pop that sucker right out the exact same way.

see. it's crap like that catfish thing. i think i heard someone call it getting horned. dunno. leave them on their belly? like lay them on the ground and then hold them down?

And yes, just lay them on their belly.

Put right hand on top of fish to keep it in place, wiggle hook free with left hand.

The fish is usually super tired from getting reeled in so it just lays there and grunts.

hmmm. seems like they'd get all floppy and want to flop all around until i got ahold of them. also, what if it's just rock and gravel? can i lay a fish down on gravel? seems not right.

Imagine you just saw some punk kid spray painting the Johnny kaw statue in city park.

You give chase in your cruiser and run him down a block or two later then give chase on foot. By the time you tase the crap out of the punk kid he isnt moving around much is he?

He just kinda lays on his stomach and lets you cuff him right?

Same thing with catfish.

How you properly hold a catfish to avoid getting stuck is:

Place the palm of your hand on the head and slide it back to flatten the top fin down under your palm.

Put your thumb behind his left fin.

Put his right fin between your middle and ring fingers.

Needle nose pliers greatly aid in hook removals from catfish.  Also, don't be a weenie and just lip them bitches like bass and crappie.

O man, I hope you catch like a bagillion fish and get frustrated because everytime you try and take a picture of all the fish you are catching you catch another, but then you realize how lucky you are to catch a bagillion fish in the first place and just let it all flow like the floodwaters of wildcat creek.

When I was down at the zarks 2 weekends ago I had a catfish pole out baited with a worm on it.

When I reeled it in there was a bluegill on it that had hooked himself in the eye.

I ended up slicing him to bits to use as bait then I caught the catfish i posted earlier with his dead body.

Fish are dumb.

Also I am currently trying out a new spot on the kaw but not catching crap :-(.

Good news is that it is absolutely beautiful out, I have cold beer and lady is having a blast running around.
