River monsters is alright but I just wish he would spend the whole show catching monsters and less time on the buildup. I LOVE it when he is fighting a HUGE Nile Perch or Amazonian Monster in some small canoe, but hate the 45 minutes leading up to that point.

As for bait on the river, your best bet is going to be some cut baitfish(shad/bluegill/carp/whatever) but you can throw hot dogs on there if you are just looking for an excuse to makeout with your babe on the riverfront.

Also dogs just LOVE sniffing/staring/being afraid of fish.

Lady will get all excited when I reel one onto the bank and then pretend like she is going to pick it up like a chew toy, sniff it/stare at it flopping around, give me a a weird look, then back away and give me a "this is all you" type look.

Honestly I couldnt tell you the name of my bass pole without looking in the garage, just never felt it was worth it to buy some fancy ole poles(I realize ugly stick is not fancy, just making a point). When I want a new bass/crappie pole I walk into Cabela's/Bass Pro and buy a spin caster that is a little taller than me for around $30. Throw some good 6-8lb test on there and you are set.

My catfish poles are good ole fashioned "Tiger Sharks" from wallys, around $20 each. I took the standard line off and put some 30lb test braided line and have never had a fish big enough to break the line(

I have a good fishing buddy who is all about the $200 shimano poles and fancy bait casting reels but everytime I fish with him I end up catching more fish.

Fun ben ji fishing/dating story!

So right before summer break freshman year I meet this total babe and we start talking. She's from KC and I'm from KC so we hang out a couple times right when summer break starts. Only problem is we are both living at our parents over summer break and always need excuses to leave the house so we can meet up and make out.

One night I suggest she meet me at a local park to have a fishing date....blah blah blah, we didnt catch many catfish but we tot's made out and at one point this "punk"(like wearing a shirt with some random band on it, not like "bad kid" punk) kid WITH ONE LEG (part below the leg was missing) comes up and starts chit chatting with us.

Anyways the point of the story is that she tot's told her friends afterwards and they would poke fun at us the rest of the summer by singing that song "Fishing in the dark".

So everytime I hear that song or YLA/SD type the lyrics out in this thread I tot's think about that one fishing date.
