Everyone seems to rave about Budapest. Maybe you could do three days there and two on one of those little Adriatic Sea islands?

I threw these in the ring, plus a good friend of ours pushed hard for Eastern Europe, but it's her trip. She grew up speaking French and wants to finally visit France. We're going to Paris, Montpelier or something, somewhere else I think (Monaco maybe), and then Bordeaux (via train).

"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

What's the deal with the area just west of the Ural mountains?  Like Russia's wheat belt?  Always wanted to go there.

Does he own the Nets with Russians or something? I don't get it, but I don't follow Jay Z's comings and goings that closely.

Just got back from a quick weekend trip to Nashville with Lady BR.  First time using the companion pass so the trip started off on the right foot considering the flights were free and very few miles were used!

Got in Friday night to plenty of rain and we went directly to Boltons Hot Chicken and Fish.

Yes it was a hole in the wall in a semi-sketch portion of the town but it was well worth it. The place has room for about 20 people to STAND inside and a couple little tables you could eat at but the vast majority of what looked like regulars were getting take out.  Yes your feet stuck to the floor and yes we were the only caucasians in the place.  The hot chicken and hot catfish were out of this world.  A must visit any time in Nashville if you ask me.  Being our first time in Nashville we hit up the bars downtown and had our fill of brew and live country music.
Saturday we walked down to the Gulch(fancy new hipster part of town) and the Yazoo brewery tour.  very small brewery that makes some pretty decent beer.  I really enjoyed their pale ale and the tour in general.  Small= one guy packs all of their six packs of their bottler that does 2 bottles per second.  have only had this one for like 3 years it sounded like. After a decent buzz on some beer and a really good late lunch at a place called whiskey kitchen we ventured back down to broadway so Lady BR could shop a little and we could stop in to some of the venues there.  Visited another 4 or 5 bars and then headed in as we were both pretty drunk by now.  Got take out for a late dinner and ended up just staying in as it was pouring and by the time we finished eating and started to sober up it was nearing 11.
Rained all day sunday so after church we pretty much drove around and saw some of the touristy sites and stopped at a few places so she could either shop or we could check out the local.

Older crowd than I had expected at the bars(shouldve known)
Good music everywhere if you like country
Compact city between Vandy and downtown compared to KC and what I expected
Rain sucks, trip would have been better if it would have cooperated
Would go back, probably best with a few couples and better weather
Getting a hotel downtown was a very good choice

Trying to get to Denver this Friday and fly back Sunday.

Flights are $430 round trip right now, they'll go down as the date gets closer, right? I mean $430 is ridiculous just to get to Denver.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

where are you flying out of? MCI? also, for a flight this sunday there is very little chance the prices go down.

Your 5 year old has more miles than me. I have a SW card on its way, though, so I have a RR account.

Welp sounds like I'm not going to Denver.

Let me see if I can get you a buddy pass. I just asked for some from him back in January, so I'm not promising anything.
