I've never felt poorer than right now being in general security line at ATL

you're just trying to mask your laziness by claiming to be poor

I'll admit the reason I don't have pre-check is laziness. Can one of you more industrious people tell me what hoops I need to jump through?

make an appt. online, show up with the required documents (DL and Passport is what I had to bring) and have your finger prints taken, sign something, walk out, get TSA pre like 3 weeks later. It's literally 10 minutes. then you can just renew online after 5 years.

I might do this soon, as I'm already procuring all the documents that Texas requires for me to RENEW my DL. I have to re-prove that I'm a citizen, among other things.

My wife finally got her precheck appointment today.  Sure the convenience is nice, but I think she mostly wants me to shut up about it every time we travel.

I recently changed positions at work and have to fly semi regularly now. I think I'm going to go do it, especially since ATL is probably a regular stop.

You may have to wait like a year from initiation to get approved but so what. It's worth it to get it done and be able to easily extend every 5 years similar to a passport.

Does global entry help more on international flights? I'm likely going to have to go to Toronto fairly regularly too.

Get a NEXUS card. Canada thing that is cheapest yet includes precheck & GE.

Toronto I don't think it helps because of how the customs is set up there - for the special line I'm pretty sure you need to have Nexus or your GE card which I've never carried, but when I've flown from there, lines weren't an issue. So, it might help if you carry your card but only in really busy times.

For other international flights, it can help a lot depending on the port of entry setup.

You can do TSA precheck at Staples (at least in NC)

Yes GE is for coming back in. Toronto may pre-clear up there though and not have GE? I know Vancouver didn't, I don't remember Toronto. GE just gets you Precheck and it's only 15 more bucks.

Does it have Global Entry? I know there were a few airports they were going to start extending that to, maybe like Dublin first?
