Good to know with certainty that the flights won't actually happen.

Heading back from st Thomas.  Lovely place.  Went snorkeling and saw two stingrays fighting/screwing and then one of them swam up real fast and jumped out of the water! :surprised:

Been there brother lol

Our friend group is doing a Napa trip in October. Got a badass Air Bnb. Really excited about it. Only been there for a half a day before.

Got a month left on my prior infection don't have to test to get into the US pass.  I was going to do Croatia but flight times suck.  May just end up in the caribbean.

It's the chance of being overseas and stuck in whatever quarantine rules that country has, another week of vacation, more lodging cost, etc.

I apparently suck at that. Got two trips in being able to skip testing so guess I'll be satisfied with that.

Prob time to drop that rule.

Why? You think positive Covid cases should be flying?

At this point sure. We let positive covid cases on buses and the grocery store.

yes, they should be flying.

pretty sure the evidence is still that filtration on flights reduces the chances of contagion to at worst no more than random running around on land and the way we conduct the mandated testing is not very useful in identifying contagious persons anyways.

Testing 24 hours before a flight is a decent way to stop infectious people from getting on a flight.

Why? We put masks on bus transit. Everything shows plane filtration is better than a closed in bus.

not with a pcr test, although, tbf people probably self-select to antigen tests, which are more appropriate.

also, should note that this is a bit of a red herring.  keeping infectious passengers off of flights is not the rationale behind the testing requirement.

there is no testing requirement to board domestic flights and the number of domestic travelers dwarfs the number of international travelers.

I get all that, except I don't know what the rationale is other than keeping positive cases off international flights.
