Headed to Kansas this coming week for a high school reunion. Have reservations at a crap hole in Wellington but thinking about going to Wichita.

Thoughts on the Hyatt Regency? Decent location?

Headed to Greece this morning. Academia of Athens 3 nights, Mystique Santorini 5 nights. The Atlantic leg is DFW-LHR in biz class on an AA 777-300ER, but first we’re slumming it on an Mad Dog from KC. AA retires these old fuckers in September so enjoying the nostalgia of what is likely to be my last flight on the American workhorse plane for my entire life.

Joked with the check in ladies because I was business class international and my friend weren't about me getting flagship and not them and they gave my friends flagship passes. It was late and not busy. That was sure nice of them though.

I remember being a kid and Wichita got this downtown Hyatt and they ran a story in the paper about how great Hyatt’s are and how Wichita was a big time city for getting one. It might have literally been front page news in the Eagle. Then because it’s wichita, it didn’t make any money and the city had to buy it

it's incredible that this is not a big deal. I mean, unless #2 goes out too. or the engine is live and eats that cone and explodes the bird in the air or some crap.

why didn't pilot point the nose of the plane down to dump that cone thing out of the engine

if he was scared of pointing the nose of the plane down because he's scared of heights or whatever, he could have used a pole and stuck it out the window and hooked the cone and drug it out of the engine.

i don't know, leaving it there seem irresponsible especially since you can see the engine core is red hot

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Similar to putting it reverse but not to just slow down that wouldn't work. Put in reverse to fly backwards though would definitely work.

Imagine being 10 riding your GT down an abandoned runway and out of rough ridin' nowhere a silent 767 drops down next to you.

Nice bourbon selection and cheap. Four premium bourbon pours for under $40.

Skipped the valet this trip as I'm coming and going to much, but $14 is a steal.

This whole place is a bargain.

Here’s an album of the new DFW lounge and AA 777-300ER biz class seat. Also went to the new whataburger at DFW. Great trip

really happy with my redemption values

RT AA biz class MCI-ATH for two: 230k miles (saaver award). Cash value at time of booking was $2300 each so about 2 cents a mile

Three nights Academia of Athens, 105k Marriott. Cash value after upgrade about 1200 so about 1.2 cents each (relatively average for Marriott)

Five nights Mystique Santorini, 240k Marriott (booked during the cat 9 “sale” last year). Cash value around 6500 after upgrade, for an strong 2.7 cents per point value

New Smyrna Beach, Fl Anyone?

Going there in July.

Update: The beach is pretty great. I’ll be here for 6 more days. If there’s anything you want me to check out, let me know.
