I would never do uber pool on a work trip, good God.

That's what I was saying! I understand trying to find a decent deal to help the company out, but they're not that hard up.

i mistakenly did it on a personal trip.  the uber driver just stopped and picked up another rider.  he wasn't studied in my native tongue, nor i his.   i looked at my travel companion and we both "wtf?" to each other and then continued on our trip along with our stowaway.

our stow got out somewhere near the target in hollywood near la brea and santa monica blvd, never to be heard from again

Yeah sometimes uber will switch to pool as the default, kinda sneaky.

remember that argument we got into about uber pool that one time, rusty?

anyhow, regarding uber, I took them up on a promotion wherein I pay $20 up front for 20 rides anywhere in the city for a flat fee of 4.50/ride.  Paid for itself in 2 rides.

Yeah, I still only so pool when it's surging or a super long personal trip. And it's usually actually a lyft line so I can tip.

3 day weekend in late March with an old friend.

D.C. or Portland, OR?

Never been to DC, but I loved my trip to Portland this year. You're within short driving range of really beautiful country and the nightlife is fun.

Let's say I wanted to go to europe this summer.  How many miles will I need to fly mrs_k_m and I business class?  Is there a best airline for this?

Haven't checked but you're probably too late for a summer euro trip

I was actually just looking 2 weeks ago and there was availability for summer.  I was going to book British airways business class only to find during checkout that there is a $425 fuel surcharge in each direction for each ticket, so I just booked coach out of pocket on another airline.

well I recommend United just because that's what I've done. Would be 225k miles for business Saver. if that Ink card is really 100k you and the girlfriend could each get it and one of you could get a standard united card and you'd be all set. Depends on how many miles/UR points you already have.

beautiful area. there was a time way back when I mildly looked into buying some land there. cripple creek is interesting. woodland park is pretty ok. divide itself is like a post office and ten other buildings with maybe a restaurant (I think). when you going?

Currently in an uber pool because it was really cheap. No other passengers but the guy stopped to get gas.

Going to LA next month during march madness to hang with a friend. Will probably stop by SUR. Any other suggestos would be great as well.

SUR was very meh IMO. I travel to LA at least once a month and there are much better places to go than that. Plus, if you're going there to see the TV people, you'll only catch them during the summer and mostly one day a week...they get paid so much for the show now that they rarely work there anymore outside of filming season.

Yeah, I figured. Just figured I should pay tribute since it's entertained me on so many Monday nights.
