Wife wants to see the best of the mountains.  Probably some lite hiking.   Train at Royal Gorge?  Anyone recommend a cabin?

VRBO - plan to be close to parks Garden of the Gods or RMNP are both great.  Could drive to Denver/Boulder, stay the night, take Trail Ridge Road (make sure it's open if you are going during shoulder season) through RMNP.  Estes Park and Grand Lake are both nice small-towny hangouts.  Devil's Thumb Ranch is a good spot for outdoors/luxury mix and the Broadmoor just opened up a place that is probably nicer and pricier that is close to the Springs.

Too many people in Summit/Eagle county but it's great if you don't mind people.  Colorado is a big state with lots to do so depends on your personal tastes.  If you do go don't do the RMNP/Trail Ridge Road/take pics of elk thing that everybody does.  Do something different.  PM mocat for advice on different crap to do.
Funny you say that. If you don't hike Quandary, you don't see many people. Once you head out, there aren't that many people. Heck I didn't see anyone on Mt Boreas until I got back to the parking lot. Baldy was the same.

As for the town, I like the busy nightlife. Fun to people watch. My youngest and I laughed a lot at the stoners especially the ones that tried to ride their skateboards after partaking. :)

Vail was pretty busy a few weeks ago.  I assumed Breck would be worse.  I was waiting for my wife at a pass and a group of hikers would pass every 10 minutes or so.  I hate that.

If he is going during hiking season, Breck won't be too busy.  I think if your goal is hiking then Breck is an unnecessarily expensive way to go about it.

I was thinking today how lucky i've been to be able to travel so much, at a very young age. I've probably seen 3X the world vs my parents and that kinda makes me sad to think about it. Starting today, list all the places you've been in the last year for work or pleasure. It's kinda crazy to think about.

Marco Island
Atlanta
Colorado (a bunch)
Indianapolis.
Columbus OH
Dallas
Louisville
Dominican Republic
Chicago
Houston
Nashville
Louisiana
Arkansas

Not all glamorous spots, but still pretty awesome. I didn't get to see much growing up.

When it comes to parks in the U.S., Garden of the Gods is tops.

That’s the word from the online travel site TripAdvisor, which recently ranked the park No. 1 in the country, ahead of New York’s Central Park (No. 2) and Chicago’s Millennium Park (No. 3).

The ranking is based on feedback from TripAdvisor users, who have posted more than 3,000 reviews of the park to date, for a 5/5 average rating. TripAdvisor is among numerous online sites that steer tourists toward restaurants, hotels and other services and attractions while allowing visitors and locals to sound off on their experiences.

Rounding out the top five in TripAdvisor’s annual list are New York’s Highline Park (No. 4) and the Boston Public Gardens (No. 5). Garden of the Gods ranked No. 2 on the world list behind Stanley Park in Vancouver, Canada.

Millennium park #3?
Yeah.  That's completely ridiculous.  Shawnee Mission Park is better than Millennium Park.

yep.  pretty sure that Millennium park doesn't have a climbing/lookout tower that dominates as hard as SMP's.
