Really, it's impossible to not have fun in any city with a major airport from which you can check into a downtown hotel and pak for a few days without driving. Having a specific set thing to do (sharks game, longbone, etc.) for a portion of the trip is a bonus.

Would you believe I've only had 2, Vegas and Seattle? I'll have a Chicago 'bone next weekend. I have no memory on how Vegas' tasted compared to Seattle's but it was def more lol.

never read this thread.  I have to be in St. Louis for the next week, I've been to the Arch, there aren't any Cardinal games, been to AB and I can't find any live music on the 'net.  Any suggestions of cool things to see or places to eat would be appreciated.

Urban Chestnut, Perennial Artisan Ales, and 4 Hands, are all breweries you should check out while you are there. Ask their bartenders about places to catch local music or places to eat.

I kinda got burned by SW my first time flying with them, last month.
Flew from Wichita to DC via STL.  On the way back, i hadn't noticed, but the plane made a stop in Chicago before getting to STL.   I don't think it showed up as a 2nd stop in Momondo though i should have been tipped off by the long transit time.
I remember thinking it sounded novel to stop the plane, let people off, and let others on, while you get to keep napping/boozing/watching a movie but i guess i always thought of it in terms of it being a stop in service to your final destination (i.e - ICT to a stop in STL to resuming flight to DCA) but in practice it just felt like having to stop in Chicago for no reason.

If you only have time for one, I suggest Side Project Cellar. It's a must visit for me anytime I'm in STL or even just driving through.

I wanted to share with you guys my exhaustive criteria for how I decide which airport and airline to use: 1) Cost and 2) Schedule.

After I choose an airport and an airline, I go to some big place with lots of chairs and windows and gates. After I sit in a chair for a while, I go through one of the gates and then sit in some much smaller place with high back chairs and much smaller windows. Then, before you know it, I'm in a different place than I was before. It's great. I love it.
