I think maybe another disconnect here is how different people interpret what is and isn't a friend.

I wouldn't consider a female that was trying to tap while I'm in a relationship as a friend.

I am going to see this movie that you want to see, but I am going with {friend} and you can't go.

that's exactly the situation the one poster set up w. regards to the other poster and his wife, though.

You mean WonderMeal? No, he was trying to avoid his friend's husband, not avoid his own wife. And there was no indication that the husband would want to do whatever the activity was.

I guess what I'm trying to say is...women can't interact with me without taking off all their clothes first.  For example, today at Quik Trip, just trying to pay for my strawberry banana yogurt smoothie (with protein) and the clerk starts taking off all her clothes.  I'm like hey lady cmon I'm just paying here.  She turns around, asks me to slide my card "right here."  So I says "it's got a chip, lady."

it's still trying to ditch somebody.  you could put the onus on mrs. kk, but i never buy that crap about "i'm not cheating, the person i'm rough ridin' is cheating, but not me." either.

FWIW, MS. Wacky has had a really close guy friend from HS. He lives in Colorado in the mountains and always puts us up. He's the one who's sister is married to a former Chiefs kicker. Anyways, they hang out together all the time. They never banged, but I know they've made out. He's a short guy, so maybe that's why they never sealed the deal, but I feel like you're not friends with many ugly ppl.

I know several female engineers. Also I have several guy friends that I have never wanted to bang.

fair enough, but you're a fairly well-adjusted, intelligent human being.
You should have just @'d me, @pmshead

I always @ you, when I'm taking a jab at you. If you want to lump yourself into an entire group that I'm making broad statements about, that's your own problem.

Well you stated it, right after I dropped the bomb that I think everyone has at least thought about their friend romantically at one point of time, but whatever.

extremely low WM/KKIQ ITT

Who knew a bad joke would spark such a huge discussion about gender relations? Is this the part where we start talking about how this combo-fanning season stinks worse than previous combo-fanning seasons?

Here's a ring that Emo could get for his wife, since he doesn't trust her. And also he should get the same so his wife can keep track of him.

I think going to dinner or a movie or for drinks or whatever with one specific opposite sex friend is weird (assuming one is married).

I go for drinks with female friends all the time. it's not weird.

Like just you two?

yes. and lunch on the reg.

I don't think having lunch with a work friend (of the opposite sex) is weird. HH not weird. Going to a movie just you two, WEIRD!

a lot of my employees/peers/vendors are girls with boobs and the whole deal. I often times travel for entire weeks with just the two of us sharing every meal and sitting next to each other on planes and staying in hotels and having drinks and the entire thing. somehow we've always stopped ourselves from just having sex (with each other). what willpower. wow. how does steve dave do it?

mrs. dave works with men and has friends who are men and goes to lunches and drinks and stuff with them. just realized that some of them may like doing sex with women (of which she is one) :frown:

I've had a number of girls that I regularly have gone with to grab beers, hike, hit a movie, grab lunch or dinner.   If I was interested in pursuing more with another girl than I wouldn't have gotten married.  Not weird at all for me.
