Hey gents,

A buddy and I are planning a 3 week trip to Europe this winter break. Understand that winter might not be the best time to take a tour of Europe but this was the only time that worked for the two of us. First time to Europe for both of us, first time overseas for me. As of now, our current schedule looks like this.

MHK->ORD->CDG via American
Paris->Munich->Venice->Florence->Naples->Rome->Barcelona->South Spain (Granada, Seville, Cordoba)->Madrid (plus Toledo and Segovia) all by train
MAD->ORD->MHK via Iberian and American

Any tips/tricks/hints that we should take into account? Any spots we can't miss? Anything would be appreciated.

I would have told you to visit fewer spots but looks like I'm too late
Never too late. Friend and I just want to get a taste of the continent, rather than focus in on a few specific spots. We understand it's not a very long timeframe though. Where would you go/places you'd recommend?

not just gents here

only been to spain and italy but olympic village and the entire olympic stuff in barcelona was awesome, la rambla is a must see also, saw a guy almost die(he may have idk) there too, just very interesting with shops on shops on shops.

rome is the best, the absolute best.  while you are there do everything and anything.  also i said eff on the steps of the vatican and it was a huge rush, didnt mean to say it but i did, and my god, i dont regret it at all.

other places send me a postcard please so i can visit those places in the future.
Will definitely check those out. Rome might be the one place I'm most excited to see. So many things to see and do in just a few days.

Not sure about a postcard, but will definitely post pictures while I'm delayed in Madrid the day before the semester starts.

Sugar cane trucks.  These suckers were all over the place.  Probly because they grow sugar cane like Iowa grows corn.

Some dudes we saw on the road.  Tons of crazy crap happens on Guatemala's roads.

My bro in law's boss was given this deer as a present.  He kept it at the work place.  It was kind of weird and cute at the same time.  That deer is like 2 feet tall and the baby is the size of a cat.

6 week and 4 week old chickens

Chicken houses and fish pools.

Lake Atitlan, it's a big ass lake in the highlands.  @mocat I didn't have the heart to ask my bro in law about the bodies in the lake because he was really trying to impress me.

One of the towns we visited on our tour of the lake.

Some churches and a water fountain complete with chicks with water flowing from their tits.  :thumbs:

Burn the devil dolls for sale in San Lucas (where the car battery got stolen) and some locals celebrating burn the devil near Atitlan.

My sister's dog and the neighbor's dog, and yes there are dogs running wild every where as well.

We just went there to eat a steak for lunch.  The thief was able to pick the locks and steal the battery while we ate.  I stayed at my sister's house for most of the trip.

No, they are too concerned with disease to do that.  The biggest threat to the shrimp is disease which can spread rapidly in the ponds.  They do plan to sell the used chicken bedding (rice hulls) to cattle producers tho...  :Yuck:

Some people have weird vacuuming compulsions, or "sweeping" compulsions, for you hayseeds out there.
