Hey gents,

A buddy and I are planning a 3 week trip to Europe this winter break. Understand that winter might not be the best time to take a tour of Europe but this was the only time that worked for the two of us. First time to Europe for both of us, first time overseas for me. As of now, our current schedule looks like this.

MHK->ORD->CDG via American
Paris->Munich->Venice->Florence->Naples->Rome->Barcelona->South Spain (Granada, Seville, Cordoba)->Madrid (plus Toledo and Segovia) all by train
MAD->ORD->MHK via Iberian and American

Any tips/tricks/hints that we should take into account? Any spots we can't miss? Anything would be appreciated.

I would have told you to visit fewer spots but looks like I'm too late

Wow, two weeks is quite a while.
Ski.  If you can’t make time during the day, I think Brighton has night skiing from 4-9PM for $40.
Mikey is correct.  Always order a bottled beer unless drinking a domestic light.
Jazz or Utes game
Take a walk through Temple Square.  Supposed to have great Xmas lights I've heard.
There are usually a couple good concerts each week around downtown.
Plenty of good restaurants.  I can try to recommend a few if you tell me what you like.
Drive up to Park City.
Ride the Bobsled at the Olympic Park.
Grab a beer after work with me.

i really hate that place but like rusty said, the weather will be warmer than where you live and there are a lot of great restaurants in vegas.

need Napa recommendos.  Trying to keep this leg of the trip under ~$600 for the day and a half.  We are staying in down town Napa, not really looking to do a bunch of wine tours on vineyards all over the place because of the time, would probably need one where they pick us up drive us around or something.  Approximately half of the budget is for the hotel room, the other half will need to include food/wine but a lot of activities already have that as part of it, so I'm not overly worried about that.

Day 1 - Drive over at breakfast/stay Overnight
Day 2 - Leave after breakfast

Hotel- $261

Napa Wine Train?
Walk around and stuff?

Oxbow market or however they spell it is probably a good spot for a cheaper (comparatively) lunch that is really good quality.  I did the tasting at Morimoto's last time I was there that was pretty pricey.  Ordering off the menu is the way I would go if I went again and also was much more reasonably priced.  It was really good.

Believe it or not, that might not be as good of a 7th anniversary gift for my wife.

I mean I never go to napa but gotts is a chain if that matters. But what Mrs. KK doesn't know won't hurt her I guess.

Had already planned on a fun pic at that place, but we might as well eat there too!

How do you tie in Napa, wool, and seeing your bud Chicat all in one unforgettable anniversary trip?

Watch out for volcanoes there, getting caught in one can be a real pain in the ash.
