if you need a beach then go to SD, not LA.  but beaches are pretty stupid so who really needs one of them?

Agree, let's all carry a bunch of crap from our car and put oil on our bodies and sit in sand and swim in nasty saltwater and then sit in the sand again. yipee

No one likes beaches.  The people that say they do are just dumbasses conditioned to think they do, but they really don't.  Greatest lie of the 20th century iyam.

Beaches are great.  Get some rays.  Drink some cold ones.  Plus, hey, there's the ocean.

What kind of a weirdo freak doesn't like the beach?

Getting rays says it all as an endorsement.  You can get rays anywhere there is rough ridin' sun.  What a selling point.  Oh wait, Dlew12 says you can drink beer there too! :Wha:

Fanning get in here and close this case.

I actually prefer Northern California beaches because you're a rough ridin' moron if you get in the water. God invented swimming pools for a reason.

ALTHOUGH, on Mother's day I was out at a beach on Point Reyes (because mrs. michigancat loves beaches), and my daughter says, "HEY, THAT WOMAN DOESN'T HAVE ANY CLOTHES ON", and I'm like, "No, they have on a *turns head*...yep, naked." Jeep in mind I was wearing a hoodie at this point BECAUSE NORCAL BEACHES ARE rough ridin' COLD AS eff. (relatively).

You can do anything you could possibly like to do in a city in Chicago.

When is your trip? I will report back on Chicago in 2.5 weeks. (I mean stuff other than just getting drunk and eating steak like all the Mods like to do there - not that there's anything wrong with that.)

there is really no reason anyone from MHK would not have been to Chicago 5+ times when it's quicker and easier to fly to Chicago on AA than it is to drive to KC to do the same but crappier activities.

I think most domestic carriers are now giving free booze to the back on transatlantics. Kind of a recent change.

Maybe if you were lax on your off-season workouts and your bod isn't up to par?

United doesn't on most international flights, although they do on flights to/from Tokyo for some reason.

unless they are avios, then use the living crap out of them (in tiny little increments)

Well, if you're spending a grand or so on tickets, what's 30 or 40 for drinks? I know, I know. But still.

wouldn't Avios be some of the most efficient use of them?

yes, that's what I was saying. clams was saying not to use points to fly to chicago. I said unless they are avios. meaning use avios.
