Yeah,  I saw that after we had missed it.   That doesn't make the rule any more idiotic.  I feel like they should at least allow you to try and make your flight.

Seems like the policy was conveyed in plane English... :dunno:

That's a pretty weird policy.  I've checked in numerous times with less than 40 min.

Because it's KC and it never takes that long.

Us and about 10 other people just got mumped pretty hard by frontier.  We tried to check in about 40 minutes before our flight.  They said check in was closed and we now have to wait on standby for the next flight.

Weird that Frontier would follow their policy like that and not chance rough ridin' over the passengers that can follow it.  What asshats.
How would letting us on the flight that I definitely would have been on time for eff anyone else over?  Keep in mind,  I'm flying out of KC and would have been sitting down before they started boarding.

Because Frontier doesn't make policies with exceptions if someone is pretty sure they can make the flight.

I've worked at an airline and when you make exceptions to let people try to make it, you frequently delay the hundred or so people that can follow the policy.  Everyone thinks they have plenty of time.  Usually the airline closes checkin for the flights at a set amount of time before the flight, that they notify passengers of, so some do-gooder employee doesn't screw the people that follow the policy over trying to help one guy out and make the plane late.

You can check in 24 hours before your flight from any phone or computer or tablet or whatever. Just a fwiw.

What if I were 100% sure without a doubt going to make it?  It's a dumb policy.  I bought the ticket, if they give me the ticket at the time I asked for it,  I would have been sitting down waiting for boarding call.

Check in on your phone (preferably the day before but right at the airport could also work) and walk onto the plane. Why on earth were you checking in at the airport desk to begin with? Even if you are checking luggage check in the day before. Even always. It's the second option:

Yeah, obviously I should have done that.   I usually this walk in, swipe my credit card at the kiosk and then head to my gate. Either way,  though,  they didn't save anyone time,  and just pissed off a bunch of customers.  Luckily I got on the 6pm fought And only missed the first 7 innings of the Rockies game!

I love how he still thinks the airline is the problem here.

Checking in online early has like 10 advantages (seat location, confirm trip, alerted to any flight issues, etc) . Checking in last minute has no advantages. Lesson learned?

Like, you know that stand by you got on? That was them selling you the tickets of the previous people who didn't check in 45 minutes before the flight. That is when they start processing that and calling people up to the podium.
