You guys!!! If I’m drunk at the airport and might have to live in NJ, at least I get to watch this.

Every resort hotel should have the wristband. Charge, club access, room key, etc. all on your dang wrist so I can just bring my hot ass to the pool and all over the property without dragging any crap with me.

Absolute banger of a trip to Colorado Springs (Cheyenne Mountain Resort) and Breckenridge (One Ski Hill Place) last week. Thankfully we didn't fly and get screwed like SF.

We enjoyed the lovely drive across Kansas with a detour to Manhattan for lunch. I'll never understand why people complain about that drive. I think it is awesome.

Here's a goat shitting on Quandary.

Made it back early Sunday morning. Was supposed to be back Friday night so we are really lucky even though it all sucked ass. While sitting in the airport all day Saturday waiting for our 8pm flight, I was tracking the incoming flight we were to be on. It took off like an hour late, but it took off so I thought we were good and our flight said on time all day. About an hour before that flight was supposed to land in NJ we got notified of a 3 hour delay. I knew we were screwed because there didn't appear to be a good reason for the 3 hour delay since the flight was almost to NJ. I scrambled and found a flight taking off in like an hour to KC that was full and not showing up online anywhere. Sprinted like 50 gates and found the nicest airport lady ever and she got us on. There were only exit rows so she had to maneuver for like 20 nerve racking minutes so my kids could have seats. Would prob still be in NJ if we didn't get lucky and on that one. The flight we were initially on got cancelled. Again, people are still stuck and I am really glad this all happened on the way home as opposed to on the way to Portugal.

All in all, Portugal ruled. Highly recommend. 4 days in Lisbon was probably plenty with kids, but we loved it. Would have liked to have explored a bit more, but it was fine. We moved to a fancy resort in Carveiro for the next 4 days, which was probably the most beautiful place I've ever been. Resort was located in a carve out of the cliffs and the views were just amazing. The little beach town was pretty cool with lots of restaurants. Just a great experience for the whole family on our first European trip. Thanks to everyone who gave all of the pro tips especially Phil and Rusty. You all know I can't do any of this myself and I probably wouldn't go anywhere if it wasn't for the tips I get here. To all of those that thought I would die or lose a kid,  :shakesfist: maybe next time.

My GF has been in Colorado Springs all weekend! She flies back today. We’re going back in October.

Just went to Madrid/Barcelona/Seville a couple years ago is the only real hesitation. Didn't have time to go up NW.

Flight lengths not crazy for a short trip, something that looks like one week will be enough for the place, flight prices, haven't been before. Amsterdam was also in the running but hear it rains a lot in October.

Zurich is an amazing city for a lot of reasons but I wouldn’t tourist there. Very boring. Very sterile.

I have occasionally gone to Toronto for work and was like "so, what sort of food is Toronto known for that I should try for dinner tonight" and I just got blank stares. "Um....Indian food I guess????" was the best answer I got

Phil & I had this same experience after the 2013 game in Lubbock, except we were asking where the bars were to watch college football & the answer we kept getting was “um…..we have a Chili’s.”

I have posted repeatedly about how much I like Zurich, and I still recommend Spain over Zurich.

Hedge funds finally got Southwest to ditch open seating. Going to offer more legroom seats and squeeze everyone else like the other airlines in 2025. Will be interesting to see how much this affects prices overall. I personally hated the open seating, but mostly because of the assholes that boarded early with 27 family members and the Karens that saved the entire 5th row. When I was by myself traveling for work, I would tell them to eff off and just sit down, but it was annoying with the family.

Hate open seating but now I fly with a companion pass and it might screw me out of the baller leg room seat.

Intersting point. I wonder if changes to the companion pass deal is next. That would suck.
