Is schlepping a regional word or does everyone say it?

I thought about that before I used it. I think of it as especially sloppy hauling regardless of whether or not that's its true meaning.

I thought your use of it was absolutely perfect and maybe the first time I've seen it written out.

Regional, but if you watched Seinfeld or the Golden Girls you probably use the word regardless of where you live. What's funny about how we in America use the word is the actual Yiddish word means something completely different.

I have never once eaten anything other than snacks on a plane or even considered eating a full meal/entreee. Is it that hard to scarf down a sandwich before you board?

OK today I have a good example for why bringing a meal on the plane is good. Been in NYC the past couple of weeks so fully adjusted to Eastern time, but I'm flying EWR-SFO today. Leaves at 4:30 Eastern, lands at 7:24 Pacific. Figure I'll leave the apartment around 2, not long after lunch. But am I going to have a full meal at the airport? No, that would be stupid because I just ate lunch! Do I want to wait until SF to eat dinner? No, that would be like eating at ~11:30pm Eastern once I finally get somewhere!

So the solution is to get one of those dang cobb salads and some chips and eat it on the flight around 8:00 Eastern/5:00 Pacific. start the transition back to Pacific time, but don't starve in the process.

Grab a granola bar and power through.  You won’t starve.

beach = overrated.  a beach is nothing more than coarse dirt (sand) and water (aquifer under dirt).  to be honest with you guys, everywhere is a beach

We once rented a wagon with giant sand wheels. Loaded it down with rented beach umbrellas, chairs, toys, and everything else. Easier than carrying stuff. Also more comfortable time on the beach with all that gear.

I just booked an airbnb in hanalei for 2022 and a non-nominal part of that decision making was the fact that it came with one of those wagons and all of the beach gear, boards, etc. to schlep to the beach.

I wrote down a list of stuff you can do on a beach that you can’t anywhere else:

The ocean is the coolest thing on this planet and is filled with amazing/astonishing things, so if a beach is next to it, it's cool too, losers!

Go scuba diving. An activity that the beach should not be able to claim.

Wife's work put a vacation freeze on her until November because of a big project they're rolling out. :frown: :frown: But we do have another vacation on the books by the beach again this year, for Thanksgiving. A whole week at Perdido Key, Florida, and I'm finally going deep sea fishing! :excited: :billdance:

Man, I wish I was SD's kid. I also need you to be my travel agent. We would never do that much during that period because neither of us would plan any of it out.
