You're a thirteen year old kid living in Kansas.  You're having strong sexual urges all the time, which is confusing enough. The problem is (you think) you're having them for your same gender.  Everywhere you turn there's someone saying something is "gay" or that guy's a mommy, or any number of simple slurs that everyone else thinks is no big deal.

Hell, they even say it on TV.  So the problem must be you, right?  Not them?  You've tried to talk to your family.  Your friends.  Hell, even your pastor.  Everyone says the same thing - it's your fault. It's your decision.  Meanwhile they just keep on saying stuff they don't like is gay.  It's just a word, right?

And then one day you realize you've talked to everyone you can.  There's no one left.  Just you and these feelings you can't shake.  Life can't be this way.  Your memories only go back 10 years and 30% of them have been torture and it will never get any easier.

So you just rough ridin' kill yourself.

And your parents are there, and your friends, and your pastor, and they all say you "were so confused.  and lost."  Why didn't you talk to them?  Why didn't you tell them you felt this way?

Because you knew how they'd react. They told you a million times.  "This movie is so gay."  I hate _______'s man of taste and distinction music.

It's time to stop this crap, and your public news should be step rough ridin' one.

I don't think Harry said "gayhawks," I think it was the obvious KU+Jayhawks slip combo.  What I think is truly sickening is droves of KU fans using this as a rallying cry to oust Harry, who they hate, out of his profession.  Obv. I'm assuming, but I don't believe that a majority of the KU mob is really too worried about effects of similar slurs on homosexuals. They're just using it as a means to an end. 

This isn't something that is unique to KU though, I would imagine many groups would be doing the same thing in their shoes. It's something that bothers me a lot in today's social, political, etc. climate.  People don't seem to generally give a rat's ass about an issue itself, but they'll sure as hell latch on to something if it furthers their own agenda.
