Beems, as a person who has a family member that got terrorized in the gulf war for his/her taste, I don't feel bad for you guys. I've been around the real ignorance with my family and saw what they've been through. The point here is, you guys could give two shits what he said, it was directed towards the hawks so you're pissed, and all of a sudden you're all behind gay rights. For a fan base that says "faggots, sheep humpers, etc." I have no remorse for you. Stop trying to get a man fired for your butthurt.

Sorry to hear about your family member, fanning.  I have friends who are gay, and I know they've struggled at times too.  Gay rights is actually an important issue to me, and it's one of the reasons why I tend to vote the way I do.

And look, I'm not on a personal mission to get Jack Harry fired.  I just think it's inappropriate for a news anchor to go on public television and refer to one of the local teams as the "gayhawks."  It doesn't personally upset me, but I could see why it might upset someone else.  I'm not sure why you guys are directing this venom towards me when all I've done is comment on the situation.

I personally consider myself as a neutral.  I am not a fan of Jack and I would consider myself more TSC than my peers.  After watching the HD version of the video, I still think he jumbled the words as many 70 year-olds in live television do.  I do not think there is substantial evidence to say he (without a doubt) said "Gayhawks" as a derogatory slam to the KU fanbase.  I have to give Jack Smack the benefit of the doubt in this one because trying to get a guy fired for possibly saying something that is is unclear to the human ear is pretty low (I'm also a huge believer in karma). 


I also find this as a missed opportunity for KU fans to promote the first homosexual mascot as a way to show the University's support for gay collegiate athletes across the nation.

This has nothing to do with any LGBT cause for ku fans.  That is just an easy excuse to explain why they are losing their minds over this and going after Jack.

The idiot KU fans don't care about gay rights.  If they did they would stop trying to exploit their cause for their own personal vendetta against Jack Harry.  These kind of frivolous witch hunts only bring negative attention and hurt the efforts of the legitimate casuses/organizations. 

The fact that so many KU fans are too delusional and self absorbed to understand this is pretty telling to me.  I mean all fans bases have idiots but this is a whole new level of blind selfish stupidity.
