Not tequila, but it's related and I didn't feel like creating a new thread. Tonight I am trying out my first mezcal de pechuga (this one distilled with chicken). We'll see how it goes.
WTF! Isn't mezcal basically tequila with the agave worm in the bottle. This is from google:
So tequila is a type of mezcal, but mezcal is not tequila, and only mezcal has worms. According to Anthony Dias Blue's Complete Book of Spirits, that "worm" is actually a larva from one of two types of moths, known as maguey worms, that live on the agave plant.
PS: Drank a lot of tequila and mezcal when I was living in New Mexico.
