went to Bourbon and Baker last night. Had red beans and rice which was all right, and the walleye which had this cheese sauce with Louisiana hot sauce (
) and mangoes on top. It was pretty good. Friend had the corn on the cob and a slider.
At first your like, "Oh crap these prices are great!" but then you realize the portion sizes are comparable to a German prison camp. The waitress suggested we order tree plates a piece.
Other than that the place is great. Awesome atmosphere with good jazz/blues playing. Ridiculous amount of whiskey if that's your thing. Only three beers on tap, IIRC but their bottle selection is great. I imagine many of those beers would be hard to find at any restaurant within 50 miles. I'll definitely be going back just to drink in the near future, as well as checking out the bakery which is on the other side of the building.
