Bourbon & Baker is such a cringe name but yeah it's great

Last weekend I had takeout from a place called Oven & Tap and believe me i didn't feel good about it

These are two of the chodiest chodecat posts I have ever seen my god

Well yeah, but that's a long streak of your front not getting busted is what I'm saying.

Worked for Panda Paradise.

I’m very very sad about the Harry’s thing. Best actual restaurant in mhk by far. Like if someone from out of town is in for the weekend or whatever and you need to make sure they have a great meal and service and everything then you say go to Harry’s.

Also, Hillside cafe is fine. Just fine. Leave them alone. Also, their potato tacos are the tits and also a regular *”rick daris top twenty mhk menu item”*.
OMG I've thought about creating this thread but you can do the honors! Also, I disagree with your assessment on Harry's. I would not give them "by far" status (I think Wine Dive offers a comparable product at a fraction of the cost). Moreso I disagree about it being the number one suggestion...I would recommend Bourbon & Baker to a visiting out-of-towner. Most everyone has been to a fine-dining restaurant similar to Harry's. Bourbon & Baker is truly unique and nails just about everything they try to do. That's not to say that I am not saddened by Harry's closing. Maybe we should also have a thread for bygone MHK restaurants that we miss. Mine would include Hibachi Hut, Harry's Deli and Aggie Station for starters.

I disagree. Also you should try the potato taco at hillside. V good. Also, I miss the hibachi hut that existed in 1999. Not so much the later versions.
that and texas star.. soo good.. I miss grizzlies as well

I lived above Harry's for a year. I remember:

1) An HVAC system that apparently moved cigarette smoke directly from a neighbor into my bathroom
2) Harry's scooting heavy ass chairs across the tile floor that reverberated through my walls at about 11pm every night
3) A garbage truck that emptied the dumpster every morning at exactly 7am and made sure to hit it extra hard multiple times with it upside down

overall it was pretty great though. If I lived there now I would have also lived at the Harry's bar

I had some good times in those apartments circa 2001-2003

just opened on wednesday.. I was walking by a couple of weeks ago in the morning and was snooping through the window and they flagged me to come in. cool space, nice and friendly dudes. Think they'll do well if the beer is good.  I'm hoping it will be a little bit like tallgrass was when it was out on highway 24 with some things to do in the brewery

Great turnout so far. They have five beers available at the moment but they have 20 taps so I assume they anticipate having a lot more available. Their IPA is solid. The lemon saison is great. They also have a brut porter and an English strong ale (this was supposed to be more of a brown ale but the ABV ended up higher than they expected). They also have a peach wheat that they put on nitro which I don't care for as I don't care for wheats and really don't care for wheats on nitro. I've known these guys for years and have sampled a lot of beer they've brewed. It will be a solid place.

Unfortunately no but I think they have talked to the city about potentially getting a temporary easement for out front. You can order their crowlers online for contactless pick-up though or you can ask your good buddy waks to pick you some up when he's downtown next.

Yeah, I don't know if that means they use champagne yeast or what but it was a fine porter.

Also been to Manhattan Brewing Company which is fantastic. El Patron which has also just opened up off of Poyntz is very good as well!

Agree about Manhattan Brewing.  All the beers I've tried are pretty good although I don't have anything that I absolutely love.  Just a few snack mixes on the menu but they allow food to be brought in/delivered.  I'm all for that, just wish there were a few more local restaurants condusive to takeout/delivery in the area for it.

The yard bar part was a joke. But for real, I've been to Chicken and Pickle several times and I do not get why people love it.

Didn't see that yoga-like_abana continued to die on the Chicken N Pickle hill. Woof.

Anway, it's time we discuss Frida's. Food truck (trailer?) on 3rd Street by Sonic. Fantastic. I've had just about the whole menu. Order the Tacos Roy w/ your preferred protein, take it over to Manhattan Brewing Co, order an Imposter Pils and relive the halycon days of La Hacienda bliss.
