Do foxes and critters come and eat stuff since you have no fence protecting you from the forest?

Been busy with the garden, bees, camping, and life, wanted to touch base in here.

Need to take a bunch more, but snapped these this evening...

Cukes...

Mix of tomatillos, tomatoes, and a few peppers...

Shitty end of the garden... Apparently when this place was built they put all the extra gravel here and covered it with topsoil... We found the gravel... This is all peppers...

Looks good!  Are you growing that all just for you or do you sell at the farmers market too?

Mostly all for us. We give a few here and there to family and friends. But its mostly just to support our salsa/marinara/pizza sauce habit. Oh, and hot sauce

So? Hows everyones garden looking? Cucumbers and Tomatoes are getting after it.

My garden is entirely too big for 1 person so I give alot of my stuff away. Since cucumbers have been going crazy so I dropped off 2 jars of pickles at my parents last weekend and just made some more for myself. Also made some Tzatziki sauce this weekend   and pickled my first batch of Japs

I harvested my garlic a couple of weeks ago and its been drying in the garage since, will probably make some homemade pesto with before the heat mushes my Basil plant.

Looking good, ben ji!

Heat wave gas royally effed some of our stuff here. 90+ degrees with humidity to match. I'll post some updates as soon as I get tapatalk working. Damn photobucket nonsense really cramping my style...

heat doesn't mush basil, they adore the heat.  keep the flowers cut back and the soil moist and it'll keep throwing delicious new leaves until it gets too cool at night.

Appreciate the tip, it was wilting from lack of water so I moved it to a partially shaded part of my yard and will water more.

Also why I got you here did I mention a bird made a nest INSIDE my garage? I used to leave the door from my garage to backyard open so Lady could roam around. I noticed a bird kept trying to fly in Everytime I opened the door but could never find the nest, eventually I found it but about 3 days after I moved it outside the eggs were gone ?

lots of things like to eat eggs, ben ji.

it's probably mostly the varieties, tobias, but also if you've let it flower or it currently has flowers that will effect the flavor.  if you aren't keeping it regularly cut back, try cutting it way back and harvest (for use) only the new leaves.

most just started flowering this week, and I've been pulling the heads but I'll try just trimming them way down and see if they become edible or will just remain ornamental, frown.  they're beautiful and smell great.

still kicking myself for not planting 100 times more catnip
