Yeah, for real. I tried a raw piece about 1/8" square and my head was on fire for an hour.

This is my 3rd year of asparagus so I finally get to harvest some this year.

Threw down my spring crops a couple of weeks ago and the kale/radishes have sprouted.

Also built a sugar snap pea trellis out of some left over 2x4s and netting.

First pea has sprouted!

What about you?

When did you start your plants? I started mine in the middle of Feb and they are tiny compared to yours...moved them outside a couple about a week ago.

Benji, do you have a really sunny room or do you use a grow light for your seedlings?   My seedlings the last 3 years have gotten really leggy, sickly looking and only about half of them made it to planting so i just gave up this year.
I even used a grow light, last year!

I'm growing hops inside (want to wait until it gets warmer to put them outside) and they have gotten outta hand.. My laundry room looks like a scene from Jumanji..

Thanks, guys. Hoping we have more than enough that make it to time to plant so we can pick out the strongest of each variety.

Ben Ji, we planted seeds Feb. 11th. Here's our setup, obviously the ones in cups have replaced most of the tray space.

I put mine in a front of a south facing window but have the same issue with the stringy/leggy roots. I use the little jif pods that come in a mini greenhouse and its works great for sprouting but after a couple of weeks they outgrow their pods and turn into a tangled mess.

Any special trick to growing hops?  I harvested some wild hop seeds last fall with the idea of having them vine on a fence.

Did I mention that I got my 55 year old neighbor who is a carpenter into gardening?

His garden is adorable. When I thinned my lettuce out I gave him a couple to transplant, loved them.

What is this goofy looking plant? Well I bet you wouldn't have guessed lettuce!

It's pretty much garbage when it gets this big but I still use the leaves on burgers.
