I will try this for some of you friends. Who still needs a ticket? mocat? ERII?

Reminder...a batch of SRO tickets go on sale tomorrow for Cauldron members at 10am.

Hadn't heard about this until just now.

Anyone? They are first selling to people who didn't already buy tickets. Then I'll be able to try. Thought I might give it a shot even though I probably won't have any luck. I'd imagine they will be $55 or less.

Very noble thing of you s_c. Letting someone else who needs a ticket purchase it instead of you buying it then trying to make a quick $100 by selling it for triple face.

I just texted a squawk friend to see if he wants it. But yeah, I'm not really cool seeing a gE'er pay rough ridin' $180 for a SRO ticket...

EDIT: Squawk friend is taking it.

Major League Soccer ?@MLS 5m
Tomorrow at 2pm ET. State of the League + #BestXI reveal. Tune in: http://soc.cr/rnLyV

How many Best XI do you folks think we'll get? Besler and Collin obviously have a shot. Nielsen won't get it. None of our forwards. Thinking Zusi will miss out. I think Uri would deserve it, but he absolutely won't.

Here's my prediction: (Almost positive they do 3 defenders)

GK: Ricketts
DEF: Besler, Goncalves, Collin
MID: Magee, Donovan, Morales, Valeri
FOR: Di Vaio, Keane, Camilo

Honorable mentions: Rimando, Gonzalez, Nagbe, Le Toux, Fagundez

I personally don't think Zusi deserves it, but I could see him swap in for Donovan or Morales. Valeri and Magee are absolute locks. So are Keane, Di Vaio, and Goncalves.

Actual Best XI just announced:

GK: Ricketts
DEF: Besler, Goncalves, Gonzalez
MID: Cahill, W. Johnson, Zusi, Valeri
FOR: Magee, Keane, Di Vaio

So I got 7 correct out of 11. Had they considered Magee a midfielder (it's debatable whether or not he's a forward or midfielder), Camilo would have been the third forward. Seems pretty ridiculous to leave Camilo out as he was the Golden Boot winner.. :dubious:

MLS released this today. Commish had his "State of the League Address."

Glad St. Louis is on there. Surprised no Detroit. Would be fine with San Antonio but don't prefer it over Minneapolis, St. Louis, or Atlanta.

My guess: We're looking at Miami and Atlanta for sure and either Minneapolis or St Louis. (Bold, I know..)

I don't want Miami, but I have come to terms with the fact that it is a 98% chance of happening.

Agreed, and they have a good NASL team already. Of those, I want STL, Atlanta, Minneapolis. Won't happen though.

I would think that Phoenix would be a great spot to develop a MLS team...apparently i'm in the minority?

I absolutely agree. They have been on the radar for awhile, but it looks like they're out of the picture now in the league's eyes. I think Detroit or somewhere in the Carolinas would work too. But this map looks like we're down to San Antonio, Miami, ATL, STL.

I wonder how much these all depend on summer schedule vs. winter schedule. Miami is going to happen most likely. It will be balls hot in Miami in June-August. If the MLS switches to a European style schedule that would fix that problem. But if they do that it would be freezing in Minneapolis in November-February. So that probably cuts them out. St. Louis would be a smart choice, creates an instant rivalry, has good high school and college soccer in the area. eff Atlanta and pro sports in that city, if they really want to get into the Southeast they should put it in Carolina because like St. Louis they have strong college soccer programs (plus they could put it in Raleigh and market towards the college crowd if they switch to a European schedule). A third team in Texas would further encourage a winter schedule.

My guess is Miami, St. Louis and Atlanta and switch to a winter schedule by 2017 (so not to conflict with the 2018 world cup)

I think a winter schedule will for sure happen. Who knows how soon.. You're probably about right when you say 2017. The transition from summer to winter is going to be very interesting.
