Background...

Just wondering if anyone has a background of a Chicken, I mean a Jayhawk that I could put on my co-worker's background?

I'm just looking for an embarrassing (not inappropriate) picture to put on his desktop. (He put a picture of a Cat hissing at a Wildcat logo on my screen.

So if anyone has anything or wants to make a background I would appreciate it.

Ignore First Sams, now Ryan Mueller of Leawood is out Reply

getting all his teammates pumped up for the Kansas game. Curry Sexton recalls, "He said, 'I refuse to lose this game.' He told us we have to share that same mentality." Mueller has really turned into a leader for this team. One of the top stories from this bunch in 2013. Likely one of the top individual stories in the Big 12 as well. And he was a walk-on and that's pretty cool and speaks to the development young guys can get in this football program. I'm excited to see where Mueller is headed.11/27 4:53 PM | IP: Logged

OT: Latest on Simon's Blindness

For those who may have wondered what happened to Simon, I had his test run on both his retina's and the vet told me his retina adaptability is only 30% in one eye, and 60% in the other.  They require 75% before they'd do cadarac surgery.  Unfortunatlely, he will be blind & deaf the rest of his life.  Knowing I'd be disappointed my vet specialist cut the cost of the test in half.   Let's just say Wednesday was a very dark day for me.  I can't possibly imagine what Simon is going through.
At least I tried to help him.  It just wasn't to be.

Thanks to those who had prayers for the little guy.  He's still healthy as a horse for a 14 year old, and my cousin and I are sharing the responsibilites of caring for him.  I'm developing a padded large crate for when I have to work.  When I semi-retire in February I'll be with him every night & most days.  The hard part will be getting him to cope until then.  He's very anxious like any Jack Russell and still doesn't understand his situation, but the two of us are trying to get him to adapt.  While I'm home I keep him on a lead, or let him nap out on my lap to let him know he's not alone.   Then I let him nap out on his bed to catch up on his sleep.  I only wish he could hear me, so it wouldn't be so hard on him.  This is going to take some time & patience, but my cousin (an avid dog lover) has vowed to help me throught this until February.
Some people wouldn't deal with all this.  For me it's worth it to make sure he has the love & attention I can give him.  He at least can still tell it's me.  I get mobbed licks when I come to pick him up at my cousin's house.  I know I can't restore his sight, but if only I could restore his hearing.  Right now all he has is touch and smell.

If anyone has any tips on how others have dealt with blind & deaf dogs please let me know.  I'd appreciate any sort of advise beyond those who'd put him down (not the reply I care to hear from, his health his very good).

if I were deaf and blind and 98 years old I'd beg anyone who would listen to let me die. truth is, most "dog lovers" are selfish fucks when it comes right down to it.

Tucks are responsible men that have lived life. They raised kids, they have worked, they have seen hard times. They believe in giving respect and they earn respect by being reasonable and tucking in their shirts. The young guys on this board will eventually evolve into tucks.

Oh, and I'm a tuck...and so is LHC Bill Snyder.

Spent four hours in Lawrence on Sun at Christmas home tour

Wife and I drove over from Man wanting to do a Christmas themed activity. We tend to enjoy Christmas home tours and thought we would drive over to Lawrence to try theirs this year (Yes, I'm a tuck). Well, I should have know better. The first stop was in a retirement community appartment. It was a one bedroom small appartment for a single elderly person. Very nice lady but it wasn't what we had expected. We stepped in the front door and it took 30 seconds to see the whole place. Next stop was a renovated warehouse "rent controlled complex for artists". It also was a one room loft overlooking a parking lot. Not what we had expected on a "homes" tour. There were several nice homes but ALL had jayhawks everywhere. There was definitely an "attitude" by many people we encountered. The artists colony rent controlled place was so "KU-esk" it was annoying. We ate lunch in a downtown bakery and there were angry looking longhaired types everywhere. We left Lawrence and drove to Leavenworth for their historic home Christmas tour which was awesome. I learned  to never assume you will enjoy yourself in Lawrence. It really is a very different environment than Manhattan. Felt like a communist foreign country.

I don't even know wtf a Christmas home tour is.  You just go to decorated houses? And some people drive to other towns for this?

"rent controlled complex for artists"
"homes"
"attitude"
"KU-esk"

Add improper quotation usage to the tuck list.
