That's really funny because he didn't take any offense to it...so if he didn't, why should you?

Is there a preferred nomenclature for white people talking about other races? Someone will always take offense to something or another. Just the other day, I called someone Colored instead of Black and he took offense to that. I said White, Black, Brown and whatever color you can think of are in fact, colors. So then he cooled his jets because he knew it wasn't malicious...

Am I allowed to talk bad about Fitz again since FF is over or does he get a pass because he hung up a flier?

I don't think there was ever truly a truce, just recognition that Fitz actually did a decent act.  So, go for it.

yeah, the general "shushing" you got didn't really have anything to do with fitz, ERII.  that whole thing was more about all sorts of people coming together for fatty and setting aside other stuff for a bit

Yeah, I don't know.  "Oriental" rubs me the wrong way, but I think it's still common among folks of a certain age in Manhattan.  My dad is totally not racist, and he uses the word.  And the Asian grocery in MHK is called "Yi's Oriental Market."

"I'm thankful our MHK forefathers had the foresight to lynch white dudes so that we might be able to throw up the mob with a clear conscience."

one of the things i love about mexico is that everyone calls everyone by their most salient physical feature.

kinda like that, but more like for strangers, not so much nicknames for known people.  like you see someone on the street and you want to get his attention so you shout out - hey, young/old/thin/fat/short/tall/pale/dark guy.  or someone just bought some tortillas from you but you don't know their name and you don't feel formal, so you say thanks, young/old/thin/fat/short/tall/pale/dark guy.

Another tangent, I love conversations where white people try to figure out what kind of Asian someone is.

Tangent, I love watching white people try to describe a black guy without calling him black. These are great moments.

Such an underrated pickup bball moment: "I've got the b ... bald guy."
Yup. But where I play it's the other way around. "I've got the wannabe Dirk!" And then they point at me. :frown:

I always get called Kirk Hinrich

Editorial cartoons of Obama in LATAM are unreal. All lips and ears. I mean, in Colombia they just call Senator Piedad Cordoba "La Negra."

EDIT: Here's a pretty good example of how they draw "coloreds"
