I am going to have a hard time going to sleep tonight..maybe some good dreams of a Wildcat victory will help.

This whole season and last, each Wed, Thurs, and Fri nights I go to sleep thinking about each of the coaches and then each player by name starting with the Offense then the Defense. One by one I give them each a little pep talk and words of encouragement. Even though I have never met any players personally, I still feel a close connection to each one because of our many "talks". I know this sound like a weird thing to do but usually helps me feel like I'm doing my part even though I can't be at games. It sometimes get me more excited, but what's usually calming to me to think of Coach sitting in his office, the escalade in the parking lot thinking about us all as fans as we sleep. I know he is not God, but he's close enough for me.

On The Threat Board...
When the Captain comes onto the bridge for the first in the morning. He soon asks the Combat Information Center and or the Intelligence staff: "What's on the threat board?"
What's cookin'? What's out there?

This week, it is the Red Raiders of Texas Tech. They are a well capable foe. They will have a chip on their collective shoulders. They have strong defenses and very capable offensive weapons. They will pay no heed to the crowd, they know they stand a chance to control the noise.
         The Cats will have to be on their A game. All the experience, good and bad, from victories and defeats over the last two seasons, will need to be pulled together. They will have to control the tempo and stay cool under fire. This will be the Cats biggest challenge since OU.

        "Captain, the Red Raider fleet is five days sailing time from our current position." "Very well, inventory weapons and supplies. Pass the word to check and recheck all systems. Double the watch. Ahead standard and prepare for action!"

Patterson and K-State

I was just chatting with a friend about the possibility of the Texas job opening up and he said Patterson should be considered, so I re-visited Patterson's resume.  This guy belongs at K-State.  I know you all know this stuff: born in Larned, played during the down years at KSU, started as grad assistant at KSU and worked his way up through the coaching ranks, has had success at low profile schools.  Has the bridge been burned?
