K-State football and ChristiansIs it me or has our football team become a landing spot for Evangelical Christians? Collin Klein led the way. Jake Waters. Tyler Locket. Morgan Burns. All openly and enthusiastically share their faith.Does this help in recruiting? Is there a recruiting downside at all?Personally, I love the trend. Partly because I'm Christian but mostly because devout Christians seem to care more, work harder, help others and stay out of trouble.

We bitch about kids not having enough stars but seem to be GREAT kids so what do we really want?A tainted national championship or an average of 8 and 4 seasons that we can be proud of a CLEAN program?Flame away I am too old to care about getting in a war but, I love that so far we are not in the news for all the WRONG reasons.Just a thought.
I would take ONE tainted nat'l championship. But after that 8-4s would be ok with me as long as the student athletes are gentlemen.
If it were up to me, Wintz would be on a fan scholarship, full ride.

Budtke Deserves a Scholarship
It's a small EMAW worldSitting on the beach yesterday here in Puerto Vallarta and met a very nice couple from Victoria, Texas. Turns out their neighbors are from Kansas, in fact she's from Salina (my hometown). Oh, and they're K-State grads. So she texts her. Not only from Salina (about 8 years older than I am), she briefly lived on our street, she describes my childhood home and texts EMAW.Then she texts the latest cover of Powercat Illustrated. Yes, they're subscribers. And it turns out that our mothers were friends back in the 70s & 80s. It's a small, beautiful EMAW world.
I find that post to be quite heartwarming
