I dislike the BITB half the time because I could give a eff about what Jack is doing this weekend or about how some announcer is better than another announcer.  I also dislike the BBQ infomercial segments and all racing discussion.

My biggest problem is a much bigger problem though and that is the popularity of Baseball.  Nothing makes me instantly annoyed as Soren arguing some anagram named statistic with some other dumbass, then they both pause while one can look it up online while on air.  The worst.  The complete over stat porn nerd out of baseball is insane to me.

i mean, here's the thing, Soren has the time slot from 10-2pm.  There's gonna be some down time in there.  I imagine it's the same with most afternoon talk shows.  I will give it to Soren though, he's got some pretty good guests.  Yes, his stat orgies are over the top.  But, when he's bantering stats with Buster Olney, I'll give him a pass.

I think what you are saying is that Soren does a good job overcoming adversity and exceeding expectations given what he has to work with?

WEEI in Boston talks only about the 4 pro teams in Boston...and the Yankees.

Everyone there listens to EEI though it has some competitors now.

They know nothing about college sports except BC football once every month for maybe 15 minutes and will also discuss the Beanpot but just to point out that BU always wins it

The Sports Hub is now #1 in sports talk ratings but I still listen to EEI every day and lol

I used to go see the Big O do live broadcasts from T's.

I have extensive sports talk radio listening experience in Philadelphia, Chicago, Milwaukee, NW Arkansas / SW Missouri, and Orange County, and ALL were WAY worse than KC.  Like WAY worse.  It's Way, way, way more like a bunch of dudes just BS'ing about life in those places than in KC.

Or, in the case of Philadelphia, and WIP, they just take calls and the host spends the entire time trying to insult the caller in new ways.  The entire genre is based on really angry people calling, and the host trying to make them feel worse by being super mean to them.  It's remarkable.  It was fun for a day or two, but after a few months it gets very depressing.

Chicago can be decent, depending upon which sports you like.  NBA stuff was good when I was there frequently years ago, but I didn't really appreciate it because I am not an NBA fan at all.  Still though, just lots of 7th grade dick jokes and sexual innuendo.

Never thought I'd live to see the day when people are bashing blue collar workers on gE.  I told Kyle about this nonsense and he flew around the room like a maniac, streaked out the window and took a huge crap on a Prius.  He is napping now but man, I don't think I will let him see the video of Obama picking his bracket

fitz and bitb spent and entire segment trying to refute gE talking points this week. Amazing to see the way gE drives the dialogue vis a vis k-state sports

Takes a lot of energy to crap on a Prius.  Top of the car, or the hood?  I need at least 30% more nap time if it's top of the car.

So he is absolutely going rough ridin' desert on the Royals right now. Not sure if this is already been discussed in a different thread…

Oh my god it was fantastic. Dyson didn't want to talk about getting picked off because he admitted that he screwed up and wanted to move on, and somehow they construed it as "the Kansas City Royals are boycotting Sports Radio 810 (the #1 sports radio station in Kansas City) because Eric Hosmer and Jarrod Dyson couldn't get in to the 810 zone for the Mayweather fight. WE WERE AT CAPACITY, FELLAS! IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE!"

It was just wonderful. He kept calling them entitled brats. "Why is Lorenzo Cain so untouchable? HE CANT EVEN PLAY 150 GAMES, FORGET ABOUT 160!"

What's funny is I'm sure they'd talk differently about them if they owned the radio rights to them.

Its weird because I'm really torn. I do think Hosmer, Moose, and others are giant babies and pretty much entitled jerks, yet its funny to think of them mushing Clinkscale in the locker room

In 2004, KK would have told Danny off the air to shut the eff up.  Now, it's a Federal case.

The biggest take away for me on this, is that KK must have been bullied really, really bad by baseball players.  This isn't the first time he has just lost it about "the culture of baseball locker rooms."  And, every single time he goes off on that Danny is like "I don't think they are worse than any other sport," but he has to say it in such a kiss ass face saving way so KK won't fire him.  Poor Danny.
