I have negative bb coaching IQ, but pro-tip: The town of Memphis is a complete and total tear down, as in, they should bulldoze it and start all over. Any human with poor enough judgment to remain in Memphis when they have an opportunity to leave, isn't good enough for K-State, IMO.

I have low MemphisIQ: would that include Graceland?

Have you been to Memphis? It's repulsiveness has nothing to do with race. I mean Graceland, which yes, burn it down, isn't exactly a multicultural mecca.

enjoying the memphis discussion, but remember: Memphis is a hotbed for basketball talent, so it would take some serious coin to pry pastner away from such an easy situation. I don't doubt k-state and others will try though. It'd be good for my team if someone was to pilfer pastner away from Memphis State. We haven't got the top player from memphis since Nolan left.

POD,  what are your thoughts on Mike Anderson so far?  I miss  having  him in the conference,  he was a fun adversary,  it was enjoyable to root against him.

Well i love mike, as most arkansans' do but there is one thing. I really don't like his offense. i love the defense, and once he gets all his players in place i will judge his ability then. his system struggles without any post players, and we didn't have much besides 6'7 powell this season besides mickelson, who is the softest big man ever. luckily we brought in a top 15 powerforward and a top 50 center. what we do next year will help me decide whether i approve of the hire or not. really though i won't be happy until they build a statue of Nolan. People play down the adversity he faced over here during his tenure. The AD at the time used to call him the N word to his face and publicly humiliate him. Embarassing for our state. atleast the bad person and all his cronies are gone now.

There is quite a bit of crime(think Detroit/Oakland) and low-income areas.  Drive down and you'll find out that bail bonds is the leading industry.  Plenty of good eats(amazing dry rub BBQ and fried chicken) and Beale Street can be a lot of fun if you like clubs or  bars with rockabilly bands like The Dempseys.  Of course any city would be nice to live in if you're a Millionaire Basketball Coach. Jeff Buckley drowned to death there.

You aren't hinting that this is what you meant are you? That would be hilarious if so. The NCAA no longer recognizes the 2008 Final Four for some reason. We all still, well most of us apparently, saw them in the final four.

The larger point was that mayhaps Memphis isn't so obviously a better job than say, KSU.  It may in fact be, just that it's not night and day difference.

So I missed that Tech fired the entire basketball staff except for Walker. He is still a candidate, along with Doc, Barry Hinson, Steve McClain, and Scott Sutton. And rivals #22 Keith Frazier is supposed to decide between Tech and SMU on Thursday, Walker is his main recruiter.
