His Uncle is Roland Houston one of the assistants on that former staff of Hobbs.  Wouldn't you think his uncle would possibly leverage his commitment into a new assistant gig somewhere?

Quote
Copes, who was released from his letter of intent with George Washington on Tuesday, decided it was best to move on. The program fired head coach Karl Hobbs, who along with Copes’ uncle, Roland Houston, recruited the star senior to George Washington. Houston was recently hired by new George Mason head coach Paul Hewitt as an assistant. This led to Copes taking an official visit this weekend and his ultimate decision.

Looks like Roland made it work for himself.

No worries bros, we almost had this guy a couple years back(I guess we're on his resume  :dunno:), he's been paying his dues with some of the most elite talent in the country in some incredibly intense situations and now he's ready to step in and do the job for the KSU Cats.

Memphis assistant G Cyprien is leaving to become the associate head coach at Texas A&M, source told CBSSports.com.

Seems weird. Is he a good recruiter?

Explains his sissy tweets and Frank's refusal to let him come back.  Glad he didn't taint McOrebs too bad.

Navy's coach would rather be an assistant @ Nova and Penn State's coach would rather be the HC @ Navy.  Damn.

this is hilarious.  glad to see he's making money at it now.

The timing of the departure will make it even harder for Penn State athletic director Tim Curley and Eddie Fogler, who was hired to help with the search.

He doesn't have a contract, he knew he was going to get fired next season.

yeah, so......we're effed, right?

instead of using the $400k to go after some elite recruiter, we will presumably pocket most of that to keep Currie's balance sheet nice and pretty (until we start losing again), and promote our G.A. for, what, ~$100k?

eff.
