So if Donna Shalala said no to Mike Leach, why would she say yes to Frank Martin, who can make Leach look like a choir boy?

I am enjoying the Uneducated Powertards trying to convince themselves that Miami doesn't have the facilities.   Hey dumbasses, Miami built a brand new on campus arena 7 years ago, with all new basketball offices etc. etc. etc.  Right now they're raising the money to build a new practice gym on to that facility.

But this, "they don't have the facilities" BS they keep spewing over and over simply isn't true.

Well, one of their talking points is crap, and another one I have serious doubts about . . . that's Miami's ability to pay.   The question is not can they afford to pay a coach, it's a question of wanting to pay a coach.

the president is still freaked by that whole brawl on the football field with FIU, they won't want someone who throws eff bombs during every timeout.

they actually just finished building a bball practice facility in 2009.

agree on their ability to pay, if they choose.  not only do they have plenty of money already (apparently spend a crap load too, but still, when the money's there it can be spun around to find an extra 500 k or mill or whatever is needed), but iirc the acc is also getting a new and substantial shot of tv money in the next year or so.

A nice DII facility.  Emporia State should take notes.  The thing holds 8,000 people or a little more than the EMAW student section.  Miami is a crap job.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Yeah, its hard to argue that Miami couldn't claim commitment to facilities, though IMHO those facilities are much more like a great mid major program than high major. And there is no question that they can pay 1.5-2.0 mil if they want to. But none of this can replace the fact that it has proven over and over that as a program it is very difficult to support basketball at a level to win big, even when they are winning at a decent rate. Its telling that in the first season of their new arena, they didn't even average 5000 fans.

John Currie isn't worried?

From the K-State Sports Extra e-mail this morning:
"As long as we earn the support of our fans, we want to continue to do this in at least one of the two locations every single year," said Currie. "It gives our fans of south-central and southwestern Kansas, or in the Kansas City area, the opportunity to cheer on coach Frank Martin and our student-athletes, who perhaps otherwise couldn't get to Bramlage Coliseum."

He's probably just trying to make Frank look like an bad person for leaving to SWKS'rs.

The silence from Bosco on all this is deafening.

manbeck killercrossovering the other beats once again.  the true bitb.

I agree, and Cole has earned his own pic based on this assessment.

that would make a fantastic belt buckle.

I had this idea that you could get one of those cell phone holders for like an iPhone or Evo or something and put it on your belt right where the buckle is.  Then you have this app with a bunch of preloaded images of belt buckles on it.  You could change the image as you wanted.  You could also upload custom buckles (like the one above).  You'd pay like $10 for that app right?  I knew it!

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.
