Can you imagine him trying to explain the play-hard chart to your average Kentucky basketball fan? What a spectacle

I didn't recognize him until they showed him in a UK photo with Rick P. He was fun to watch in college.

he’s going to get torn apart by that fan base

he might not make it past the introductory press conference

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Also, put me down for him being a fantastic hire.

here's the scenario i'm currently allowing to run on repeat in my head:

UK: hey Scott Drew wanna coach here?
Drew: no
also Drew: (under his breath) You guys don't have the weird religious culture that i crave. honestly...baylor isn't weird-religion-y enough for me...

It's a weird deal. The AD is nearing retirement and I assume has the support of the majority of donors to make this hire. I'd love to see it turn into a Tenn Schiano situation just for the lolz.

I didn't think he had the humility to start at the appropriate level, good for him. I'd guess it will take one more jump up before a P5 job becomes viable though.

Humility, lol. Dude thinks he can still host an AFTERNOON daily national sports talk radio show while running a division 1 basketball program. I'm stunned that UWGB agreed to that, not stunned he lacks the awareness to attempt to do this.

Like Colorado with Prime, it's not about the results on the field that matter, but rather in the media.  This is a fantastic move for them (as long as they're okay with not winning much).

I'm not sure that's comparable. Deion is old as crap, but still had juice from his career, media, and last actual coaching job. Does anyone under 40 even know who DG is? I'm sure he has some listeners to his show, I honestly have no idea, but i'm struggling to see how that helps Green Bay. No one is packing the arena to see DG coach basketball. The much more likely scenario is this AD just ruined his career.

Yep. Some people will mention Vermont's previous head coach Tom Brennan also hosted a sports talk show, but he hosted a local morning drive time show. Gottlieb's show is 2-4 central, every week day. They just gonna not practice, recruit, or travel in the afternoon, like ever? Not to mention all the stuff you have to keep up with as a national talk show host. I have no issue with him coaching, this is stupid though.
