Good hire from them. They wanted him bad last time and had to settle for Johnson.

got some idiots on this board if they really thought _BBB meant an actual apology
Well, no one actually thought that, but he'll have to explain the move either way in the presser. We get what _fan was saying, I just think there's a way he can win the presser, without saying the basketball program was going in the dumpster (because of his dumbass hire). You could probably say it was an opportunity too good to miss out on and no one would gaf, and question why.

Is Pitt a job that Frank would want?

Wouldn't the best scenario be if Brad does well at OSU and KSU just hired him away like OSU is some kind of a farm system for us? Would really depend on Brad bleeding purple.

Brad won't come here to coach a bunch of losers when he already has a bunch of winners in the same conference.

I guess Sean Miller played there, guess we will see how strong the appeal of alma mater is.

I'd guess they'll get the other Miller.

It's neat watching schools care about basketball and doing things that prove it.

We obviously love Brad but given what OSU's targets seemingly are it would be insane if they already offered him, which is to say I absolutely do not believe he has already been offered, there's literally no way. I do believe he's been contacted but he has not been offered.

You see Dixon to TCU and start to think we could have made a run for Lon early in Wooldridge's tenure.

Great hire for TCU.  For as long as we have Weber, the only thing that will stop us from a 9th or 10th place finish every year would be conference expansion.

Pretty safe to say we have the worst coach in the big 12 now.  And, OSU has no coach.

Big 12 Coach rankings

1. Bill Self
2-8 The field
9. OSU vacancy
10. oscar Weber

I wouldn't be surprised if Dixon isn't successful. It's really hard to turn around a program and he inherited a successful program and turned it into Weberville.

Not sure about that. TCU just upgraded their facilities and Dixon needed a reset. The only time Lon needed a reset was after he failed with the Hawks and I'm not sure how well received he would have been at that point. When UNLV hired him they were a long away from Tark the Shark, Lon was five coaches removed from their glory days.

I wouldn't put him anywhere near weberville, he had a legit great run with his own guys in year 5 when they went to the elite 8 with Blair, Young, Fields, etc.   He is more likely what Frank would of turned out to be had he stayed.

yeah I was thinking around the time he left the Hawks/Knicks. IIRC he was the Knicks interim when 93-52 happened.

His last five seasons have been similar to what oscar's five seasons here will look like. You are correct he did much better earlier though.

I'll be interested in what the eye on college basketball guys say about this hire because a month ago they said a coach with options should never take a job that is traditionally one of the worst jobs in any conference. Dixon is thought of as a good coach and TCU is clearly the worst job in the conference and one of the worst in the power five. He's got a ton of work but because he's an alum and they have no idea what success looks like he should get a ton of time.
