Bobby Hurley to Big East?
I have never understood how DePaul is so bad at basketball when they're surrounded by so much talent in Chicago.

So true, DePaul hasn't had a coach that could keep kids home since Ray Meyer in the 80's. Kentucky, Duke or KU get the best ones now.
1997-98 Conf. Champ team @ ILL, Kruger's roster had 14 of 16 in-state kids. That was amazing.

Alabama has nice b-ball facilities, Coleman got a pretty expansive overhaul awhile back, it seats 15,000 and they just opened Cribs Men's B-Ball Practice facility.
Bama actually had a pretty decent run in the 80s under Wimp and his plaid jacket.  Looking up his record on wiki (10 NCAA bids in 12 years :surprised:) i was reminded of his "exit"
Quote
Nancy Watts, his longtime secretary, filed a sexual discrimination lawsuit against him and the university... Both Sanderson and Watts admitted they had had an affair from about 1970 to 1985, but both offered conflicting stories about what happened on March 17, 1992.

Watts said that on that day, two days before Alabama was to play Stanford in the NCAA Tournament, Sanderson punched her in the face, giving her a black eye, during an argument. Sanderson said Watts had become hysterical and that, in an effort to defend himself, he stuck out his hand. She collided with it, giving her a black eye

I guess there weren't any sinks in the room

like, what happened there? they just made the ncaa. they aren't horrible losers like KSU. eff, I'd hire lavin. I'd actually hire most of the recently fired losers ITT. that's what we've become.

ADs who fire or otherwise run off coaches that consistently make the tourney are rough ridin' stupid and deserve every bad thing that ever happens to them.

i think it was just they could not agree on the terms of the contract going forward, and Lavin said he'll take his chances elsewhere

http://texas.247sports.com/Board/21/Contents/Texas-head-coach-Rick-Barnes-not-expected-to-return-36439238

Quote
Multiple sources have told 247Sports that Rick Barnes is not expected to return for an 18th season as the Texas Longhorns head coach.

Texas Men's Athletic Director Steve Patterson has demanded wholesale changes with the assistant coaching staff from Barnes, and Barnes is not expected to acquiesce to these demands.

Lavin only made the tourney twice in five years. He had a stacked experience team year 1 (#3 in experience per kenpom) and had to rebuild after that. But I mean, they've had fairly steady improvement after that. Kenpom went 37, 153, 107, 61, 49.

But again he's super experienced this year (#9) so they probably expected more.

If oscar can get Nigel out, he may save his job.  I mean, how many kids do you need kicked out before other candidates see the job as too much of a rebuild?  We gotta be pretty close to that, right?

The list for replacements, should Barnes opt to leave, will be long, as Texas is one of the top ten coaching jobs in the country. Gregg Marshall, Shaka Smart and Buzz Williams are among the names that will likely be involved.

Would love if we woke up like Tuesday and had Rick as a coach.

Minus my meltdown on Underwood hasn't recruited his own players (which apparently I was wrong. I can admit it. Minus last years team), I want him pretty badly. It would be an amazing fit!

I don't think Barnes is EMAW enough or young enough to want to take on the challenge that is our roster situation.

I have to believe that Tennessee has already asked ADJC permission to talk to oscar.    :crossfingers:

Tennessee could use a squeaky clean image coach. With their situation they probably want a guy that won't rock the boat, won't make waves, draw attention to them, etc. oscar would actually make a lot of sense.
