I bought this 19 months ago, not one once of problems, and it has an HDMI port . . . anyone who would pay over $1000 for a lap top is absolutely mumped in the head:

Deal:
HP G60-458DX 16" 4GB Laptop $400 at Best Buy

# Intel Pentium Processor T4200, 4GB, 250GB Hard Drive, 8X DVD-/+R/RW
# Intel GMA 4500M, 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN,
# 5-in-1 media card reader, Built-in HP webcam with microphone
No Blu-Ray? Can't really play games on it either with those shitty graphics.  The processor is garbage, too.

Be super cool and get the Samsung 9 Series. Look out for laptops with the flawed Sandy Bridge chipsets.  :ohno:

a) link?
b) wut?  :ohno:

Not exactly your specs, but you'll be the coolest kid on the block and that's all that really matters

Lots of laptops being replaced  :runaway:

The Samsung looks cool, but $1700 is a lot for those specs. That laptop would be about $600 if it wasn't super lightweight/cool looking.
Looks very nice - meets the specs except graphics aren't very good.

You should spend more time working on not using unnecessary ellipses.

what is

HP's high end workstation laptops. From HP, they're out of your price range. You may be able to find one close though. The "dreamcolor" option has an IPS screen. It's gorgeous. The machine itself is probably too expensive and powerful for what you need though.

I will consider them when they start having better components and screens. I use my stuff for a hell of a lot more than itunes and email. Crappy AMD graphics? lol.

I should also note that I only surf the web and make movies. I just like how it runs the same as it did the day I bought it. Not an Apple slave.

Do you have a good pair of headphones to pair with the new laptop? That is a must.

I was thinking, make sure this new laptop can play blu-rays.  You'd look stupid with a DVD case next to your laptop. Blu-ray, though?

I don't know how to use them and am worried none of the stuff I have purchased (pirated) for my pc will work on it.  macs look elite though.  I think that's why I like the ENVY so much.

They are easy to use, none of the software you have will work (most of it anyways) but that's not a big deal, can always re-pirate.

But they are overpriced and can't do anything a PC can do, so why bother
