stevedave does not seem like a "gamer" to me.
He seems like the kind of guy that would need to carry around a usb mini-mouse in his laptop case because "he doesn't like the trackpad"

OMG I DO THIS! (bluetooth, not usb) :horrorsurprise:

true.   And a pack of alcohol wipes to clean the keyboard.

BTW good luck using that 16" lappy on a crappy airplane tray table.

Never could get Citi's online bill pay to work with State Farm, even after contacting tech support.   It finally began showing the correct bills, but the payment never goes through.

Well, the 14" one does not have the new processors.

The 17" ones do.  The 17" falls out of your initial specification range.
Where did you get that overnight bag?

Yeah, the 14" also uses the older graphics card.

IMO - it's not a bad laptop at all, and it will be fast enough for what you will be doing (presumably nothing taxing).  If you answered my gaming question (YOU COULD PM TO SAVE NERDFACE), I could better evaluate your situation.

But, it's not a good value.  For that price, you shouldn't have to pay for the older technology.

Elite.  Security risk, though. :nerd: I like going to airports and sending a bluetooth business card to people with silly made up names.  They look around like "whaaa...!?", close their laptop lid and scurry off.

Woot has been selling some refurbished HP's for real cheap.  I got a 15" for $179.  Has something like 3meg mem, 60 gig hd, dvdrw/cdrw, 2.2mhz processor.  It isn't by far the best you can buy, but if you are just doing spreadsheets and such, it is fantastic.

Bought mine 3 weeks ago, but have seen it for $199 three times since.
