Somehow this turned into a "Frank has problems" type of deal with media types. Weird.
journalists protecting their own. not surprising.
loads of butthurt among journalists out there. good for frank.
I really don't understand the collective "it had to be asked" rationale from the beat writers union every time one of these things happens. They're not covering watergate or fixing society's ills. They're just writing about games for markets that consist almost exclusively of fans of a team.
They're largely useless now that everything is live on the internet. They already know which questions will and won't be answered. A form list of questions could be left for the coaches/players every time with the "presser" broadcast to anybody who cares.
All the media types sticking up for Kellis are as dense as the Fat Tony's manager. YOU'RE ARGUING WITH YOUR ONLY CUSTOMERS. When the people who provide the income are criticizing, your reply can't be "that's our job, had to be asked". Who decided it had to be asked? J-School? Some self-important beat writer code? Dumb.
And as has been mentioned plenty of times, the extra outrage is of course due to the fact that Kellis is a known EMAW-hating racist. Pretty dumb of the Star/Eagle to put him in that position, where every time one of these episodes happens, he gets destroyed extra hard.
This was long, so I may get some DNRs, which will make this the equivalent of your standard 4th-tier market newspaper.
