Pete's right, he'd be crazy not to listen but only because anytime somebody calls you up saying they want to pay you millions of dollars you are a reject if you don't pay attention.

He will leave within the next five years IF we don't start paying him near-Seff salary within that timeframe. And of course he will have to give us a reason to do that. Arkansas is a good job but not light-years ahead of State. Using Arkansas as a stepping-stone to Miami where they would give him a huge guaranteed contract doesn't really make sense. He knows Miami will be desperate for his services but he will have to win a bit more first.

Ooh, nice outfit. What is that, Dacron?

Isn't there a Wal-Mart/Laurie conflict if Arkansas hires Anderson?

Haven't heard that angle brought up before.

I wonder how accepting the Hawgs are going to be of Frank's "right fit" recruiting.

Can you imagine Frank having to do that pig-sooooey chant at his presser like they made Altman do?

Realistically, where would Frank be on Arkansas' board?  Fifth?  Sixth?

Someone on an Arkansas board said they'd love to have Frank, but their AD was on Pelphrey for his sideline behavior this year, so that wouldn't bode well for Frank.

I think it's fun to  :runaway:, but really, I think the odds of them actually going after him are pretty slim.

Pelphrey was also losing.  But I think if AR isn't stupid and waits,  they can have a good shot at Anderson.  I think Frank's more likely to go to Miami if he leaves at all.

Yeah, it's hard telling who T. Boone will go after.

Yeah, it's hard telling who T. Boone will go after.

I would expect him to go after big names and end up with the 2011 version of Travis Ford.

I think it's going to be Anderson.  If not him, I wouldn't be surprised at all if it is Turgeon.

I have absolutely zero insight on this, but based on the short lists floating out there, AR wants someone with Big 12 ties because they want someone who is familiar with recruiting in Texas and the rest of our geographic footprint.  That's just a guess.  Anderson is #1, IMO, because he's a link to the best period in their history, runs the same style, and will most likely retire there.  He's also familiar with their recruiting territory, and he's pretty much a checkmark in every single one of their boxes.

This is such a tough one.  If we lose to Utah St. in the first round I'm going to be all  :goodbyecruelworld: but Frank will probably stay so I'll be  :).

If we beat Utah St I feel like we can make a run in this tourney and I'll be all  :ksu: :woot: :pbj: :bball: but then Frank will probably get the Ark offer and take it and I'll be  :goodbyecruelworld:

Doubt Arkansas gets far enough down on its wish list to offer Frank.  IMHO, FWIW, FTB.   :users:

As noted in the Fake Patty Day thread, PAY FRANK shirts are available in green for this Thursday's St. Patrick's Day tilt against USU.

Need shirts that say Pay Frank on the outside, and Fire Frank on the inside.

80% of our fanbase would buy these up like fried food.

Seriously…

Frank isn’t even on the radar down here. Bet if you asked 50 Arkansas basketball fans, 40 couldn’t tell you who he is or where he coaches.

I brought up his name to the sports columnist for the daily newspaper in Little Rock, and he said, “No, no no!”

I asked why. He said, “If Frank Martin came to Arkansas, I’d have to report some unflattering things about his past.”

Not sure if it was Miami High related or stripper related.

I told him about Frank being a great coach and how ESPN and the likes can’t get off his nuts.

He said Frank, “wouldn’t be able to cope in the fish bowl that is Arkansas athletics,” because, “Arkansas is unlike any other college. It owns the whole state, and people pay closer attention to the coaches than anywhere else.”

Mike Anderson is the only target, for now, from what I hear.
