God damn you guys are stupid. I heard Oklahoma's job is open too, maybe Frank will want to go there too.

Sometimes you guys are like  :powerespect: in reverse.

If we ever enter a situation where our head coaches are Bill (and/or Sean) Snyder and Brad Underwood, I'm taking an indefinite hiatus until that 'situation' is resolved.

you probably missed it where a member of BOTC's "staff" was advocating for Brad, didn't you?

Yes, I apparently did.

advocating may be the wrong word....defending him maybe? I dunno. Basically Underwood was brought up as a possible replacement. I said i would not want that. He asked why. It went downhill from there. The person also thought Doc Sadler is turning things around at NU. He may post here not sure. :ohno:

There is no defensible position for hiring Brad Underwood.  If that is the case, we have whiffed on every decent coach we even remotely threw an offer at.

Let's go from one Martin to another!

God, no.  I live in Springfield.  This would be severely depressing for KSU.  Missouri State is not a good team this year.  I'm disappointed they didn't make the dance so they could get exposed.

I would imagine that their user names list is about as stereotypical as we would think it to be.

no, he's an old phog.net sock. I think 42 may have actually been involved.

I'm just afraid he's built a house of cards here in S'Ville.  It's too early to make a call on Martin, Cuonzo.

Per my sources on UA side: Tubby Smith rumors are basically smoke. No deal is imminent, or even close

Every coach has built a house of cards everywhere they go.  Unless you prove that you can go to school after school and create a winner (i.e. Calipari, Pearl, Self, Pitino, etc.), you have potentially built a house of cards with your current job.

If Frank goes somewhere and doesn't have the same level of success he had here, they'll make excuses as to why he had success here and not there.  If Tom Crean doesn't get it turned around at Indiana, it's because he built a house of cards.  Same with Billy Clyde.

Unless you're searching for a top ten coach, every coach you hire is a crap shoot.  If Cuonzo can recruit, he'd be as good of a candidate as any.

was it a big check?  like the ones you get when you win the lottery?  if I were a coach, these are the things I'd demand.

Would you have Ed MacMahon present it to you with the total value of the contract on it, Publishers Clearinghouse style

but with a giant check instead of a bracket

The biggest thing with Cuonzo is that he's basically still playing with Hinson's players at key positions.  The other consideration is that he was very mediocre in the Valley in his first two seasons and it's not like the program needed major rebuilding.  On the other hand Frank has consistently had the cats towards the top of the Big 12.

What are some mid major guys that are consistently competing for league championships?  Those are the guys I'd like to take a risk on.

I just want to make sure we keep any Cuonzo Martin enthusiasm in check around here, since John Currie takes a lot of cues from this board.

btw, the point of passing along the ford x arkansas ad bffdom was not to suggest that, if true, he'd hire ford, it was to suggest that he wouldn't hire martin.

"a garden city man wondered in april if the theologians had not made a mistake in locating the garden of eden in asia rather than in the arkansas river valley."

Looks like you guys lucked out. Tubby Smith is likely to become the next Arkansas head coach. Now... Frank Martin to Minnesota?? I wouldn't be too worried... can't see Franko in the Big 10+2.

Is it naive of me to think Frank wouldn't be talking to them while we are still in the tournament?
