Will the "cool" Pinstripe Bowl K-State be on the new field at BSFS?

Yes . . . it's cool.  Currie Prevails.
NO . . . OB Wins again.

I merely stated it is cheaper to upgrade the Bram because it is shared.

Thankyou for agreeing with me.

Many aspects of Vanier are open to all student athletes.  For instance, the "Vanier Academic Learning Center is open to all student athletes. The ALC offers a full-service computer lab and free printing, along with quiet rooms to accommodate group and individual study. All study rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi. There are no structured tutorial sessions at this location during the day."  http://www.kstatesports.com/athleteservices/resources.html

The same is true for many of the health/wellness/emergency medical care aspects of the building.

FWIW, I know the top VB recruit in the country didn't even consider K-State because of the HVAC issues at Ahearn.  Do with that what you will, probably no body cares.

With recruiting, getting considered and coming in second is no consolation prize.  If we were ruled out on HVAC, we probably weren't really in the running

That's true I guess.  I'd share the details, embarrassing to K-State as they may be, but at best it's anecdotal evidence.  I've only ever known personally one D1 recruit so I can't speculate on why they choose the school they choose.

Can losing out on a vball recruit really be embarrassing?  If legal, I would spend every single penny of AD resources on men's football and basketball.  Could care less if our women were playing volleyball at Manhattan High.  Hyperbole, but you get my point.

Plus, I love the fact that we're repurposing Ahearn instead of letting it rot.

I think it's embarrassing, but I have more context.  Agree that no one here would care.  I do think that our D1 athletes should get to practice in A/C, or we drop the sport.

If this upgrade includes either a new facade and restructuring of the seats on the east side (angling the NE corner of the bottom bowl in and angling the ends of the 2nd tier), or a new vanier.....I will be very fired up.

If it's something else all you'll get out of me is a muttered.... "Nice..."

That being said Put a durn Limestone Wall around that field yo!  What if we got the moniker of "Playing Between the Stone Walls"  kinda like between the hedges at Georgia?  Pretty stud.

I thought stone walls and video boards were a given and nothing secret.  The hotel speculation came and left pretty fast.  I thought they found someone who would do 35% occupancy from Denver but maybe that fell through as well.  I'm hoping it's either East Side or Vanier 3.0 or both.  I personally don't think they will touch south side/Legends Room until hotel crap is confirmed due to access to the area.

Bingo.  I think they'll handle the east side and vanier first.  Then hold off on blowing up the south side until we can string a bunch more sellouts together and Manhattan shows more growth.  Because, I'm assuming that redoing the south side will add a bunch more seats.

If they got everything we have right now super dialed in and professional looking, our stadium could start to be perceived on the levels of the other first class mid-capacity stadiums (T. Boone, Autzen, Papa John's, etc.).  Now that the West Side is bdass looking there's not that much separation.

You are correct about the walls and video board.

I'd have to go and look, but the Indiana NEZ project referenced in this thread several times had a lot of amenities for all student athletes.  I would have to imagine that with moving the training table to the WSC, they'd probably try to make BSFS a one stop shop for all of the student athletes as much as they possibly can.

I mean, really, the only true outlier will be Volleyball because they play on the South end of campus while everyone else plays on the NW edge.  Sure, it will be an inconvenience for them, but they have their own "historic", beloved facility for all intents and purposes.

I agree with Dax that we have bigger fish to fry right now.  This is our opportunity to assert ourselves in the baseball space and really put our foot on KU's throat in football.  Those need to be our top priorities.

We really need a new Vanier now, with new indoor facility. remodel of existing indoor has title IX written all over it. strength and conditioning, and indoor space for all Olympic sports (move indoor track out of Ahearn, make ahearn volleyball only???)

I hope the next step is Vanier 2.0 and NEZ seating wrapped around. I really do.

But I also like to dream about BSFS. AND when I dream, I see the East side looking exactly like the WSC in every way (exterior, north/south views, height, bottom few levels). EXCEPT, instead of the media levels, more suites, etc, on the top 3 or 4 levels, it's open seating for more tickets. With a roof over them. Allows for the South to look similar if we ever need to expand THAT much more seating and tie the East and West together. The bottom few levels would be the same height all the way around the stadium, and would help with not making it look really pieced together. This will probably not happen in my lifetime, but it would be something similar to this

btw, anyone else been getting better cell reception at games?  my phone (verizon) used to never work during games but now works pretty well.  I noticed there are some new antenna type doohickeys on the NEZ video board and some antenna looking doohickeys on trucks outside.  did verizon finally build/bring in more towers?  if so, it's weird that we didn't get an email about it or something.
