I want a bramlage upgrade before our bball program falls into oscar Weber abyss.

yes because basketball pays the bills.

It's inherently cheaper because of title IX.

The building the WSC required building the rowing facility and upgrading the tennis courts along with the 50/50 item of training table. Basketball is used by both so it's a one and done deal.

if thats the case we need to stop honoring our women's teams at halftime on the football field. btw i don't believe anything you said nothing against you i just don't see anyway building a 2 million dollar rowing pool having anything to do with an 80 million dollar rough ridin' monstrosity

Having the football team surrounded by a hundred million dollars of brand new crap while the volleyball team squanders in leaky old Ahearn isn't going to fly forever.

In determining whether an institution is in compliance with Title IX, the law requires the court to specifically look at the quality, availability, exclusivity of use, maintenance and preparation of practice and game facilities, as well as locker rooms. In a lot of high school sports, such as soccer and basketball, boys' and girls' teams share the same competition and practice facilities, so the only facility-related equity issues involve availability and scheduling. Baseball and softball, however, are a different matter. The two sports, while similar, require different fields of play, and as in thesuit filed against the Sweetwater Union High School District by the Castle Park softball players, it is not uncommon for schools to provide their boys' baseball team with state-of-the-art facilities while their girls' team plays on lower-quality softball diamonds.

BPF, Rowing Facility, Tennis courts, Golf Clubhouse, Timbercreek Stables.....I think Women's facilities are doing just fine.

We've also renovated our standalone track stadium in the last couple of years.

The facility that needs the most work in order to catch up with the Big 12 is Tointon. Pretty sure it's the only baseball stadium in the conference without a video board. And since HCBH has us in the mix to host regionals on the reg it's about time we add some permanent seating on the 3rd base side.

if you read back 100 pages(not really asking you to) currie already had all of that ready to happen. Should be done by spring ball (the video boards) I don't know about seating

All institutions receiving public funding are subject to the same rules of title IX regardless of HS or College. Just ask Fresno State. Last I checked the WSC isn't billed as a 85 million dollar training table.

Granted the improvements won't be dollar for dollar, but you are naive if you don't think the rowing facility was compensatory for the WSC.

Come on man, the minor/Olympic sports have received substantial facility improvement over the last 5 or 6 years.   Sure you could point to this school or that school having better for those sports, but at K-State those sports have been given plenty and should perform better than they do IMO, with the exception of maybe Tennis, which just now got a suitable outdoor facility worthy of a D1 school and they're going to get even more stuff as part of the new Outdoor Rec building when its completed.   

Specific to V-ball, sure, it would be great and wonderful to have a dedicated V-ball facility, but that's a hefty expense when you consider that Ahearn is available, and the court, the lower level V-ball seats, the scoreboards, and the paint job in the arena are all practically brand new, and the V-ball offices have been remodeled as well as the players dressing room/lounge in the last few years.

As far as I'm concerned not one more dime should be spent on non-revenue sports until Baseball gets a stadium expansion and further improvements.   Rowing . . . rowing! Has received $4 million in new facilities in the last decade and they'll never produce a dimes worth of profit, and don't get me started on our underachieving golf program that's been given new everything in the last 8 or 9 years from a golf course, hitting facility to new dressing rooms in a multi-million dollar clubhouse.

FWIW, I know the top VB recruit in the country didn't even consider K-State because of the HVAC issues at Ahearn.  Do with that what you will, probably no body cares.

With recruiting, getting considered and coming in second is no consolation prize.  If we were ruled out on HVAC, we probably weren't really in the running
