Cost?  Hell I don't know, 155 million probably.

Get some money for the Monorail from the University, get some money from alumni foundation for the welcome center.  Heaven forbid, perhaps the  CITY could help out.

Sell north and south endzone bleacher seats for a steal, just want butts in the seats, make the money from TV.

you think $155 million will build all of that? Great work with the sketchup and conceptualization of it all, but it's probably closer to 500-600mil.

I love it :swoon:

Would the indoor practice facility really fit there?  How many yards would it be?

Pro tip: No. Unless we could convince the city of Manhattan to make Kimball 2 lanes again.

Or re-route Kimball to go under the new facility.

Not counting the hotel I think we could be close.  Not a lot to tear down.

8 mil for the indoor practice facility
20 mil for Mega Vanier 2.0
10 mil for the Alumni Welcome Center
5 mil for Recruiting lounge and seating
20 mil north endzone
40 mill south endzone
35 mil for both office/flex buildings
40 mil for the East side limestone wall and monorail station
15 mil for the monorail

Total: I think 196 million.  Get some help from the city and the University and Alumni Association.

Check book back in hand.

This seems reasonable given the $75 mill the WSC was. I think the entire NEZ complex would be closer $60-70 mill than $45 mill personally given earth moving and demolition costs (just guessing) for Vanier 1.0, but then again i could see it being less. At any rate, no way in hell the whole thing costs anywhere near $500-600 mill someone stated earlier. $40 mill for SEZ seems spot on and $40 mill for East Side seems close enough. Monorail seems cheap given the other stations needed on campus (which I believe should be quoted in price) but the monorail is just icing on this cake.

guys, the WSC is 205,000 sq ft and cost 75 mil. you're saying this new "mega vanier" is 408,000 sq ft and is going to be less than 1/3 the cost? i get the ammenities won't be quite as nice but still, there's no way that's feasible.

the SEZ prediction is probably somewhat accurate. although who knows what kind of changes will have to be made to Bramlage for something like that to happen.

35 mil for two office/flex space building that total over 100,000 sq ft? nope.

a 2 mile street car line in KC is costing the city 200 mil, and you think manhattan can build one that stretches through campus for 15? I mean come on.

WSC was built as a showplace, with angled seating and complicated overhead lighting, Mega Vanier 2.0 isn't anywhere near that fancy except for the coaches areas and the Big 8/12 room.  Same with the office/flex space, very pedestrian.  Having said that, add 100 mil to the project and we are still under 300 mil.   Monorail cheaper than street car, going overhead and is it even 2 miles from the stadium to the north side of Aggieville?

okay maybe instead of a monorail we can have the 1/4 scale tractor team and the robot team collabo on some sort of self piloting PRT hayrack ride system

I get that the WSC was built to be the best of it's kind, which was achieved  :emawkid:

and, I'm not a construction expert here, but I refuse to believe that any sort of structure/structures the size and scope you proposed could be as inexpensive as you think, unless the decided to build it like the current practice facility and make it all steel buildings.

I'm no engineer, but I think your estimate for the monorail is a taaaaaad bit off. Check out WVU's PRT costs just to compare...

From wikipedia "...it was not until 1974 that the system had matured technically. Construction of the first guideway in Morgantown started that year, and was completed the next. The "Phase I" system consisted of 5.2 miles (8.4 km) of guideway, 45 vehicles, 3 stations and a maintenance/control facility and cost $62 million.[6] There were large cost overruns during the initial development of the system.[7][8] The system began operations in 1975, with a total expenditure over $60 million, four times the estimate."

60 mil, in 1974.
