*PHEW* congrats, bros.

I'm pretty sure that's not true, I remember seeing a picture a few pages ago of a light that definitely took out a parking space

Nope, but the new rowing facility sure takes out a nice chunk of parking.

Statue update.

Quote

August 30.

From what I was told the other day at our meeting. There will be a ceremony where the HCBS Family statue will be unveiled and will be concluded by noon. Everyone has to clear the parking lot, and the stadium will be locked down for game day preparation. There is a VIP invited event the night before, so I'm not really sure when public tours will be allowed on game day. I think the comment was made that public tours will be done in the future.

A few more pics from Ayo (he got inside today and got some solid shots at dusk before getting asked to leave) (also, sorry about the length of the post):

drove past after dark tonight.

The spotlighting on the "LHC Bill Snyder Family Stadium" text is truly horrible. its all lumpy and an awful white/blue light that contrasts with the rest of the natural incandescent colored lighting of everything else.

also the Kstate and all the powercats really really really need to be backlit.

Yep.  Though I've not seen the plans, I don't see backlighting in the works (saw no electrical in place before the hanging of the 'Cats in the photos of work I've seen), which is one of the few mistakes on this addition.  The BSFS sign on the great arch is front lit (from above recessed into the ledge from what I can guess) and it is crooked and needs serious tweaking as well, but that can be fixed.

Not sure if the Big Powercats will bet front lit.  If so, not sure where the lighting would be positioned.

I actually had elite insidery information, that the biggest powercat and the "kansas state university" on the other side are all wired up with LEDs behind them, and they ran conduit up to both signs, but the university elected to not spend the final $1500 to finish wiring them up, truly K-State0

Yes I am an adult and yes I still design different things out of Lego using their digital designer. When I saw the WSC I figured I would have a pretty good chance at building it. It is 1,286 pieces. Thanks to Ayo S for the pictures. They greatly helped since I don't live in Manhattan. Yes you could build this exact model, however it would probably run anywhere from $100-$150 to buy all the pieces needed. Its roughly 18" Long and the tallest part is about 4" tall. Thanks for checking it out.

The Lego version is amazing, but funny how it emphasizes how completely 'tarded the purple powercats are all over the building. The "little" ones on the front need to come down. Backlighting would only emphasize the 'tardedness. It diminishes the curb appeal of an otherwise fantastic addition.

We need to add a new phase (before or after Vanier 2.0?) where they remove the purple cats, etch them into the limestone, light them up nice and pretty with some spots, and plant some friggin' trees.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

I agree, not enough powercats
In boy scouts my scoutmaster always had this saying that went like "if you think you have enough powercats, go back into the woods, and get 10x that amount."

"You want to stand next to someone and not be able to hear them, walk your ass into Manhattan, Kansas." - [REDACTED]
