While I'm spamming I just want to ask if those guys working on the new "picnic" area had to go through a special, "Potential Tree Planting" zone safety course.    Do they have enough protective gear on?

probably some kind of lock out/tag out involved, i'd imagine

Plus, I'd also like to add that we're pretty much past the all the really good stuff on the WSC.   I mean yeah, we'll need to gawk at all the finish work and flat screen TV's when that's all finished, but really, it's all pretty anti-climatic at this juncture.   The ribbon cutting and all the platitudes and the stories about how, "nobody saw this 25 years ago.". 

But really I think it's pretty much time to move on, so if they could, you know chop-chop on some of that new stuff, that'd be great.

Yeah, I'm kinda over the West Side thingy. Let's get moving on the East side enclosure, or north end complete redo or something. crap at least throw me a limestone wall bone.

So are they just gonna build around the trees or what? They finally give just to take away. Doesn't make much sense unless the southern portion of the stadium is just for picnics. How rough ridin' cute.

i think it's more meant to protect the people working in or around the trees, and to prevent another person from unknowingly modifying the tree arrangement and injuring the first person.  maybe if there's like a really big tree, and the second person in doesn't know the first person is on the other side and cuts down the tree and kills him.  think it's supposed to prevent that

if the trees are lit in some capacity lockout/tagout is essential

Welp.   If WSC cost $85 million (and of course that includes a handful of additional items like "Picnic area o' death" and "Vast Sea of Blacktop" and new lights).    Than I figure if you're going to bulldoze the North Endzone and start from scratch and really do a good job and not look back with regrets (See Vanier project 2005 to 2007 for that regret part) than you're looking at $50 million easy IMO.   

If you're going to make the East look like the WSC, but obviously without a training table and only needing cosmetic changes to the suite level and club level.    But also doing the desired angling of the far North and South sections inwards towards the field, than you're probably looking at another $40 to $50 million.    Throw in the wall, new video boards, sound system . . . than yeah, $100 million easy for the whole shootin match.

Ya know what, I'm gonna rummage around in my North Face backpack and see if I can find my checkbook and just take care of this thing now.

Any arborists posting?  Our seats are in the south endzone.  Are we going to have to go to a strict buddy system around the trees?  Just wanting to understand the risks.  Thanks, I'll listen off air.

If I were you, I would take a picture of your loved ones on your smart phone in case you need to file a missing persons report later.

Need a concrete insider to explain what's going on here.  Please also explain to me where the "shade trees" will be planted. 

won't they move those concession tents all the way back to fOOD to allow more walking space?  As is, I would say that walk is far more of a nightmare than walking through the former WSC rendering 8 tree forest.

I'll be honest, I don't GAS about the webcams.

I think it will take until at least several games into the season for the excitement of the WSC to start to wear off for me. The high may even last until the last home game and after that we could legitimately start to see some new construction. At least maybe the field wall and other smalls. But there probably won't be webcams...

I hope they leave the tents and turn the concessions around so the lines go toward bram. This would allow the space between the tents and the seats to be used completely for people on their pilgrimage to the castle.

Still don't have much time to take pictures, but I parked today and took some photos with my telephoto lens. 

The quality isn't great and I didn't have any time to edit them in post (they could use some sharpening), but I think there might be some new stuff in there for you guys.  Was the BSFS visible above the arch before?

I also think this shows the true color better since they were taken around 1PM.  It gets very yellow when the sun starts to go down.
