so is it going like this....

1) build the btf and move all basketball offices and stuff to btf
2) attach bram to the fball stadium by taking out the walkway in between
3) for one off season- move fball offices, lockerrooms, etc to bram
4) demolish vanier
5) build new vanier
6) move fball offices, lockerrooms, etc back to vanier for season

seems like a pretty reasonable scenario :dunno:

Would there be any way to move the football offices into the WSCastle for an offseason?  Have a hard time imagining OOD would be big enough to accomodate the entire football staff.

The fOOD would be able to accommodate the coaching staff's offices, because the athletic department offices are housed there as well and they could also move out.  The bigger hangup would be all the team spaces, locker rooms, weight training, meeting rooms, etc.  No good or easy to accommodate those needs in a temporary fashion.  I just don't see this happening until Bill hangs it up.

locker rooms, though.

also, no idea what the office situ in bram is like but i'm willing to guess that there are a bunch of facilities and AD type dorks etc that could be kicked out pretty easily.

also, why the seemingly somewhat sudden decision to connect the two (fOOD and BSFS) or was that always in the plans? idk but i love going dax conspiracty theories on this.

Once way that could make LHC Bill Snyder  happy is to fast track the desired new football practice complex across the street from Vanier, get it built and set up Modules to house football while Vanier II is under construction.   Make sure HCBS has access to both Outdoor and Indoor practice fields right outside his door.   If you build the new indoor facility big enough you can set up Strength and Conditioning in there.  (then Dax's long awaited dream of converting the current football indoor facility into a new indoor track can be realized).

Ayo post from GPC.  Most of these rumors have been discussed on here already...

It'll definitely be wider and look nicer with the limestone retaining wall. I think they are planning on turning it into a picnic area with a bunch of benches for people to sit and eat concessions, also would be a place to meet people. I'm interested in seeing what they plan to do with the concession stands because they tore out a couple, and the rest will essentially be in the middle of the walk way now. I hope they move them back against Bramlage. That would help alleviate a major bottle neck during games. Also since there will no longer be a walkway between the west parking lot and the east parking lot they plan to open up the concourse of Bramlage which will allow you to go up the ramp through Bramlage and back down the other ramp to get from one parking lot to the other before the game rather than be forced to go way up north around Vanier.

Some more stuff I've heard rumors about and I'm wondering if anyone else has heard the same thing from people higher up are:

1. This might be the last season you will be able to see Bramlage from inside the stadium
2. The Limestone wall around the bottom of the stands, Sound System and new video boards will be installed after this season.
3. They're very close to okaying the new hotel that would be on the West side of Bramlage and would overlook the stadium
4. The Vanier family has been apprehensive about tearing down Vanier and starting over because they feel the money they put into it back in about 2007 or so was wasted by starting over. But recently they've realized that we need to build a whole new building and are OK with it as long as they get to keep their name on the new building and the plan is to have the whole new building in place in the next 5 years.

Again these are all rumors I've heard from all over the place and as I know we have some big donors on this board surely someone else can verify if any of these have any legs.

I spoke with some decent donors this past weekend and all the rumors seem to be solid.  The mindset of the athletic department is to continue to keep the ball rolling as fast as possible on all the renovations.  So far apparently none of the money has been borrowed.  They (Athletic Department) had expected to borrow 40m but due to all the private donations they have not had to borrow as of yet.  The suites all have waiting lists, and there is a need for more.

The bonds are already floated.

But a sign private fund raising is going well is the fact that Phase II was expanded by over $11 million.

I'm glad we've gotten the money creating projects done (suites) or basically into the voting phase (hotel).  But I'm ready to see the players finally get something though (I'm greedy).

I thought I read from a pretty reliable source in the past week or so that the idea of a new practice complex across the street is out.  Instead, they will tear down and rebuild on the site of the current indoor facility and practice fields.

I could be wrong.  They may have been wrong.  But, just something to consider.

So would this hotel literally be part of the stadium or would it just be built close?
